A/N: So...sorry it's been a while. My time kind of got filled up, but here it is!

After Kija and Nejire had placed their rentals on hold for the day of the festival and bought hair accessories to go with them, they'd hopped on a train and headed home. The sun was far from setting, but it felt like Kija had spent hours in that store despite Nejire making time go by so fast.

"Do you think they'll have ice cream? Or any mochi? But you like crepe's so we should check if there'll be a stand with them at the festival." Nejire looked up at Kija, "You want me to check?"

"Pretty sure most festivals have more savory foods than sweet. But at dinner we can get something." Kija kept checking her phone, eyeing the time and trying to re-calculate her workout routine. The shopping had cut into it by about a half-hour.

Nejire's hand tugged on her sleeve, persistent, "So does that mean you'll do it?"

Kija pocketed her phone, "Do what?"

"Dinner after the festival."

Kija froze. "Uh..." Had she said that? Dammit, she still hadn't decided yet. Kija glanced at Nejire, groaning at the giant eyes and puffy cheeks. She closed her eyes and exhaled, "You...fine."

"Yes!" Nejire hooked her arm through Kija's, "And don't worry, I've already scouted the place—it was online I'm not that weird—and it has a fish tank so I can distract Togata with that to give you and Amajiki some alone time." She hopped up on her toes, one eyebrow raised, "You do still want that, right?"

Kija opened her eyes, daring to look at her friend, "That depends."

"On?"

"I'm not going to purposefully isolate Amajiki just to talk like normal."

"You know you're not supposed to talk normally, right?" Nejire put the normal in air quotes, "This is your chance! If nothing else find out if he's interested."

"In me specifically or my type?"

"Both? All? Everything?"

Kija stared at her, blinking, "Aren't you the self-proclaimed matchmaker here?"

Nejire threw up her hands, "First we need to know if we're stranding you two together—"

"So you admit it."

"I never denied it." Nejire folded her arms over her chest and looked at Kija, "So? Do I have full permission to organize you two into romantic situations?"

"You don't need that much power for leaving us alone for ten minutes."

"Aha!" Nejire pointed, "But I can do that! Right?"

Kija twisted her mouth. She had no problem being alone with Amajiki, they had before, just not when Kija was aware she had a...thing for him. Was that it? A thing? Is that what you called this? The only experience Kija had with romance was one-time stuff, nothing she wanted to risk throwing a whole friendship away for in case it went south. Especially if she didn't know how the other person felt.

But...this was a chance, right?

"Okay."

"Yes!" Nejire did a little happy dance and Kija had to laugh. At least Nejire would be pleased she got to do that much matchmaking, even though it only involved distracting Togata with the promise of fish puns.

Kija's phone buzzed and she decided to reach into her pocket to fish it out—she nearly decided to teleport to wherever Togata was at that moment and kick him in the shins for his puns influencing her thoughts so much—and pulled her phone out. A text message waited for her, from Jiro.
