The day Kija went back to school after the USJ incident it was all she could do to not be trampled by her classmates asking about it.
"What happened?"
"Were there really a hundred villains?"
"Did any of the first years get hurt?"
"What was All Might like?"
"Did you see that huge monster thing the news was talking about?"
Kija pushed herself back in her chair, away from her desk and all the too-close faces. She was starting to realize how Amajiki felt all the time. There were only a few bruises visible where Kija's uniform didn't cover, but she still felt self-conscious as her classmates stared her down.
She'd been able to calm herself down in the past few days about everything that'd happened, but being reminded of her...relative....wasn't helping things.
They all looked worried though, so that was a bit reassuring. Still, she did not want to talk about this.
Kija rubbed her arms "C'mon, we face villains in our work-study's all the time. Why're you all so curious?"
But Kija did know why, a UA facility had been broken into, and the students there at the time had been attacked. The news was going crazy with the revelation that a hero school, and UA of all things, could be attacked like that. It was a miracle the injuries had been kept to such a minimum, save for the teachers and Midoriya.
One of her classmates threw his hands up in the air, "Yeah, but what were they like? They called themselves the League of Villains, right?"
Kija shrugged, hoping everyone would go away soon, "Yeah, but I think it was more of a rag tag group of thugs thrown together to try and overpower All Might with their numbers. Failed though, as expected."
Another one of her classmates nodded, "True. Seems pretty stupid to try and go through all that trouble to try and beat All Might. I mean, did they really think they had a chance?"
"I know right?"
"Yeah, All Might's unstoppable!"
The group diverged from the topic and moved away from Kija's desk. She looked down at her hands. Her wrist was slightly bruised from the suppressor, but it was hidden by her sleeves and jacket. If you looked though, you'd be able to see the bruises still dotting her knuckles from the punches she'd thrown.
Kija grimaced as she thought of what she hadn't told her classmates. The Nomu that'd actually held its own against All Might, how the Symbol of Peace had actually looked beaten up from it, how Kurogiri had been there.
Reports on what the two villains that'd gotten away had been made. For Shigaraki, it was a young man with blue hair, hands all over his body, and a kind of disintegration Quirk. As for Kurogiri it was a man with a black mist for a body, yellow eyes, and a warping Quirk.
Luckily, the chances of anyone mistaking her for Kurogiri were slim. Kija never covered her whole body in her mist, and hers was a mix of black and purple. Not black outlined in purple. Plus, there hadn't been any pictures, and it wasn't like family resemblance was a thing either.
So, for now, Kija was in the clear as far as reliving the hell that had been her last six months of middle school.
A chill still went up her spine when she thought about him again. The same yellow eyes that wavered in a black abyss. Memories Kija had locked away and still refused to look at again for fear of what it could do to her. She rubbed at her arms again, wishing the scars would just leave.
