Wouldn't It Be Nice

Hello!

...that' s it, I can't think of anything else. Art up there ain't mine.

~~~
Orientation was the same as always. A brief outline of school rules, welcoming speeches from some of the staff, a few minutes of the school's history, and finally the principals ending spiel about working hard. Plus Ultra anybody?
The seats were organized by year, not class, so all the second- and third-year students sat next to their friends. But the first years, who didn't know anyone yet, just sat in the order they'd come in as. Kija had tried to spot Kendo's head of orange hair but had given up after seeing the heights of the kids that separated her from the girl.
Wasn't that big of a deal though, Kija knew Kendo didn't need Kija checking in on her. She'd leave Kendo to herself and not get clingy.
Now, Kija of course sat with her friends. Nejire had practically tackled her when she saw Kija and dragged her off to the already chosen seats. Nejire sat on her right with Yuui, one of her friends from 3-A, next to her. To Kijas left was Amajiki, trying to slouch in his chair as much as possible to avoid anyone seeing him, and on his other side was Togata.
However, the most interesting part of orientation was the twenty empty spots in the front. It was completely normal though; it was well known among the upperclassmen that Eraser Heads class always had a fitness test the first day instead of attending orientation.
Still, seeing a nice chunk of empty seats was fun. It was weird they still put out chairs for the class despite the staff knowing all too well Aizawa would be pulling the same thing every year.
Kija could only guess the tired teacher had been less than pleased when he found out he was having an 'assistant' this year. At least she wouldn't be forced to do what the first years would be doing, right? With any luck it'd be a nice chance to reminisce about her first year.
As orientation ended and the third years were dismissed Kija sighed. Her new assignment was already getting on her nerves, "Hey guys, I'll see ya later. I have to go do something."
Nejire whipped around, "What? What is it? Where are you going? How long will it—"
"I got chosen to be an assistant to one of the first-year hero classes, Mr. Snipe told me I had to go after orientation." Kija had to stop her friend from asking too many questions, chances were Kija probably wouldn't have all the answers. At least she already had experience with Nejire style questions in general. That was nice.
"Really? There's something like that?" Nejire asked, head titling.
"New this year, apparently." Kija shrugged.
"That's so cool! You get to be the top dog in a class full of freshman!" Yuui said, she did have a point there.
"But being in front of all those people," Amajiki shuddered and lowered his head even farther, "I don't think I could do it."
"Oh c'mon! Look on the bright side!" Togata clapped a hand on his buddy's shoulder, "We'll get to know if there's any super awesome freshman! Besides, Kija's going to be the best assistant ever!" Nejire and Yuui nodded along with this.
"Okay...thanks for the pep talk guys. I'll see you later." Kija turned to go down stairs that lead to the athletic fields and gave a small wave to her friends, sad that she couldn't go back with them.
"Have fun!"
"Good luck!"
"Show 'em what Plus Ultra means!"
