"Kija-san," The girl in question looked up from her work to see Snipe, "This is when you'll leave to go help with the first-years. When we aren't doing practical exercises that is."
Kija pursed her lips, today was going to be her first time with the first years as their assistant. She stood up and grabbed her bag, "Alright, should I meet them at the training grounds?"
In other words, could she bypass any possible social interaction.
"Classroom is fine unless Eraser Head tells you otherwise." Snipe responded.
Kija nodded, a bit sad at the answer, "Thank you sensei." She started to walk out the door. News had already spread about the assistant program, and Kija was getting thumbs ups from her classmates, as well as a trying-to-be-subtle-but-not-subtle one from Togata.
"Hey Kija!" One of Kija's classmates spoke up from the back of the class, the girl grinned, "Show those newbies what it means to be a hero student!"
"Yeah!"
"We'll be waiting!"
"Teach them what Plus Ultra's all about!"
Kija grinned, "Thanks guys." She waved and shut the door behind her. Kija stood there a minute, almost wanting to go back. Even if most of the third-year curriculum was stuff almost every kid already knew because of their work-study's, Kija was still worried she'd miss out on something.
She sighed. Well, not much I can do about it now. Kija reluctantly made her way to the classroom, hoping the small hunch she had about today turned out to be right. It would definitely perk her up.
Aizawa had said a teacher other than him was teaching combat training today. Now, because of recent news, which included a certain hero joining the UA staff, Kija was 80% sure she knew who it was going to be. Still, the sight of All Might standing in the hallway reading over note cards was a sight to behold in it of itself.
Kija had only ever seen the number one hero on television and the internet, she'd never seen him in person or been a witness to one of his heroic deeds firsthand. That didn't mean she was any less of a fan though.
Because despite loving underground heroes above most others, how could you not admire the Symbol of Peace himself? It took Kija a good five seconds to resume walking, her inner excitement of being in the presence of such an amazing pro carefully concealed.
Kija wasn't sure if All Might noticing her was a good thing or not, but he saw her all the same. Standing about seven feet tall and wearing his silver age costume, with his hair up in the same gravity defying way as always, and his trademark smile. Kija almost didn't register the wave he gave her from the pure surrealism of the situation.
"Ah! You must be Moya Kija! The assistant Aizawa told me about." All Might turned his full attention to Kija, but he was whispering. It still somehow felt like he was shouting. All Might had even bent over slightly to better lower his voice, but for what?
Kija gave him a blank look for a second, trying to register everything. Luckily she snapped herself back to reality before the silence became awkward.
"Um, yes! I'm Kija. It's an honor to meet you sir." Kija bowed deeply, but All Might gave one of his infamous laughs, still somehow quiet though.
"Please, the pleasure is all mine! Now then, are you ready to show these rookies what it takes to be a hero?" Despite only being in his presence for a little less than a minute, Kija already felt welcome by the hero.
Guess that's one of the reasons he's such an awesome hero, putting people at ease is an important part of the job.
Kija nodded, "Yeah, quick question though."
