A/N: IMPORTANT!!! For this chapter, Iida's older brother Tensei/Ingenium is referred to by his first name. Basically in this chapter Tensei/Ingenium is referred to by his first name not for any narrative purpose (since referring to a non-family member by their first name in Japanese culture, especially males when you're a female, signifies a more intimate relationship). It's only so you know which specific family member is talking/acting. Just wanted to make sure that was clear. Other than that, enjoy!

After booking it to the convenience store and maybe sprinting onto the train so fast she gave an elderly woman a heart attack, Kija could finally breathe when she sat down. She'd barely had any time to look at the selection of appropriate gifts and had just grabbed a box of fancy looking cookies. Hopefully the Iida's weren't too picky about food, appearances though...

Kija couldn't stop from fussing over the scuffs on her jeans and the small tear she'd been meaning to fix on her jacket's elbow. From what she'd seen Iida was meticulous, but she hadn't gotten that vibe from his mother, for as brief a moment as Kija's met her. Hopefully the Iida family wouldn't be shocked at seeing a normally dressed teenager and not whatever their youngest son was.

...that was a bit mean, wasn't it?

Kija checked her phone one last time to see if Yoki would text her any stranger danger advice, and saw it dangerously close to her meeting time with Iida. But then the intercom called her stop and the doors opened. Kija stepped onto the platform, holding the box of treats and hoping Iida was here so she didn't have to stand around.

What was she thinking? He'd probably been here for the past ten minutes.

Kija climbed the steps up to the station exit and looked around for Iida. She spotted him, standing very straight in khaki shorts and a pale blue polo with running shoes on his feet.

Kija slowly approached and Iida turned his head to see her. He shot his hand straight into the air, waving it like a robot would. Kija approached and smiled, "Hey, thanks for meeting me."

"Of course!" Iida lowered his hand, "It was the polite thing to do." His eyes drew to the box in her hand, "Did you bring something?"

"It's the polite thing to do," Kija said back to him, "For you and your family."

"How kind! Should I...?"

"I can carry them, you lead the way."

Iida stiffened there and Kija almost thought he'd salute, but he simply nodded and started leading her down a street that Kija could see led into a residential road.

"I hope the train ride wasn't too bad, or that the late invitation didn't inconvenience you." Iida kept rambling as he talked, explaining how his mother had wanted to thank Kija but had never found a good time, and made her son invite Kija over on the one day the whole family would be home for dinner.

A few minutes of walking and Iida paused from his nonstop talking to turn to face a house. Kija nearly walked past but corrected herself, spinning on a dime to face the house.

Her nerves kicked to life at the sight of the house. Two stories in a residential area, it had a small stone fence with a mailbox imbedded in the wall. A brick path led to the front door and a small garden of pansy's were planted in mulch around the path. The windows on the first floor had garden boxes hanging from their windowsills, with matching flowers to the ones in the yard.

It was a home. For a family. For a typical, parental and child family.

Kija put on a smile as Iida opened the door, a wreath with a welcome sign in the middle of it clacking against the door, "I'm back!"
