"I'm a little peckish, so why don't we have our little chat over some food?" Hawks said more than asked.

You, Shoto and Endeavor followed close behind as he escorted the three of you to his domain; aka the city with his favorite restaurant.

Apparently, the liver skewers were "to die for."

Liver..? 🤢

If you didn't get attention from the public already, adding Endeavor and his son to the mix brought waves of pedestrians. You kept greetings short while trying not to get stopped by all the people traffic.

Hawks kept things light and easy as well. Even when some of them were questioning his stunt at the show earlier.

"I watched the bulletin live. If you don't cool it you might make some enemies," one man who came up to us chuckled.

"Is that so," Hawks winked at you. Yeah, he didn't care.

A couple of younger fans closer to your age approached you and Shoto wanting autographs. When one chick asked for Shoto so sign her chest, his brain didn't compute the request. You grimaced, watching him genuinely try and understand why she would want such a thing.

"H-How about he signs your shirt? The back?" You suggested quickly.

Even that incident seemed to blow over nicely. Endeavor on the other hand...

The fiery hero made an attempt to mimic Hawks' charisma when a boy with light pink hair approached. It was... cringe to say the least. Even Hawks gave him a sad smile as if to say "aww, A for effort!" Endeavor was better at being intimidating than kind, or whatever that performance was.

You almost felt bad for the guy.

There was one special pedestrian who caught everyone's attention. He looked like he was about to start streaking across the street or something. A long trench coat was across his chest, but he flung it open and shouted, "METAHUMAN LIBERATION!"

"Aaaaand, no..." Hawks sent a few feathers over to close the man back up.

Metahuman... You looked to Hawks but he was busy with Endeavor again. "Metahuman liberation" came up a few times in the notes you had to organize back at the agency. Hawks had an annoying way about him when he wanted you to know something but wouldn't directly tell you. You sighed.

Could be something to ask him about later.

Lunch was served on a rooftop location to look out at the city. Hawks basically ordered everyone's food to make sure you all got the best (or his favorite) meals.

Your mind was on an entirely different planet while Hawks sweet-talked Endeavor's ear off.

The food was warm and savory, but it was difficult to focus. Yeah, you weren't being the best agent right now, but you were distracted by your phone, waiting for Heller to text you back.

He was proving to be a reliable right-hand man, but you still didn't trust him to not do something stupid. Did he usually find girls to feast on when attending these big important parties or award shows?

Were you right to judge him..?

That and the whole Metahuman thing... What had the notes said again? There was a name that kept coming to mind, like a made up villain alias. Destroyer? No. Not quite.

"- hey, are you done here? I'll totally eat the rest."

You blinked, returning your attention to the gorgeous, ash-blond man across the table from you. He wore a playful smirk while tapping on your plate of fried chicken.
