AN: legit just a cute/sexy date with Hawks 🤗❤️
AN x2: Yes, I updated just a bit 🙈
Even without his usual gear, Hawks was soaring like a shooting star in the sky.
He showed off a bit; flipping a few times and flying on his back like he was relaxing on a lawn chair. Your back was getting sore from flapping your wings and keeping up, but it was a lot of fun. On this island. With him.
Hawks seemed like an entirely different person.
The two of you whipped around the bay, staying close to the cliff side while some tourists in their swimsuits waved from the beach. There were areas of the island you couldn't have dreamed of reaching so easily and so quickly had your not had your wings.
Hawks swooped in with his feathers, giving you a little boost. "Sorry if I'm wearing you out! I have a spot, though. We're almost there."
You flew to the opposite side of the island where, on a green and flowery hill, a small market welcomed tourists. Once you were on your feet again, your wings thanked you for the rest.
"Let's get some grub, I'm starving!" Hawks said, "What would you like?"
"Anything so long as we can nap after," you laughed.
"Aw, you're like my perfect person."
It took a few stands to collect all the treats you wanted to try. They also had clothes and hats that were utterly tacky but you bought some anyway. You sent a selfie of you and Hawks to your "parents" in straw hats and colorful sunglasses.
"I want this as my screensaver," he said.
"It's so dorky!"
"I love it even more! Hey, let's buy one of those blankets, then follow me. We have one more spot today."
You had to laugh at his excitement. The energy he exuded made you want to be just as carefree and happy too. He was contagious without you even having to touch him.
What if it could be like that all the time...
More flying sadly, but you followed Hawks up the mountain to a spot in the trees. You dropped down, using his red feathers as a guide through the foliage, until you heard the sound of running water.
It was a little swimming hole. A waterfall roared and splashed against the stones beneath it. It wasn't massive, like any of the wonders of the world, but for some reason it's beauty got you choked up.
The best part? You were the only ones there.
"Hope you're cool with picnics?" Hawks grinned, laying out the blanket.
"... You're spoiling me," you said.
"Huh? Well, yeah. It's a Christmas gift, right?"
You hadn't realized that your hands were clasped together near your chest. Hawks watched, letting a moment of quiet wonder pass between you two. His warm smile brought you back to earth.
"I hope you like it and I'm not freaking you out too bad." He scratched the back of his neck. It was odd for him to sound insecure but even weirder that a faint blush dusted his cheeks.
"It's probably the best trip I've ever been on... and it's only been a day," you said.
His brown eyes sparkled.
"That's the spirit."
He started removing his shirt over his head and your heart stopped. Good gods that man was carved by angels. His muscles weren't as defined as Heller's who was almost uncomfortable to snuggle with. No, Hawks' body was fit but still had a soft edge to it.
