"Nakamura! You have to try fish heads with chocolate sauce!"
"Joichiro! That's disgusting!"
"Shut up Gin! Don't ruin my fun! I just realized that Nakamura rarely ever tried my disgusting creations! This is my chance!"
Azami is confused.
1. He is at White's Tower, and not the court.
2. He is surrounded by three prominent figures that he really doesn't want to confront right now.
3. Saiba Joichiro, the man he admired so much is going to feed him the most disgusting combination he has ever heard/seen in his existence.
He turns to the only sane man in the room for an explanation.
Nakiri Soe shakes his head.
"C'mon Nakamura, just one bite!"
Azami backs away when a spoon of that abomination is forced towards his lips.
"Joichiro, this is serious! We can't waste time!"
"It'll only take a few seconds!"
"Saiba-senpai-" Azami made a mistake in ever opening his mouth. Joichiro instantly shoved the spoon through his lips.
It triggered his gag reflex and made him want to throw up. The weird textures, the mismatch of flavors, and that weird fishy smell-
Azami doesn't hesitate to take the bag Dojima Gin gives him, while Joichiro is laughing in the background. Then, he grabs the nearest glass of liquor and downs it like water.
Why is his idol like this? It shouldn't be. His idol should be the embodiment of perfection. A chef that everyone strives to be-
He distantly remembers the past and grinds his teeth at the terrible recollection.
Totsuki ruined him.
Senzaemon ruined him.
"Nakamura, calm down a little. It was just one bite!" Azami felt someone slap his back a couple of times and he snaps back to the present. He stares, dumbfounded at Joichiro who had a bright grin on his face.
"Now I think we can have a talk."
"Joichiro..." Dojima sighs exasperatedly, his face already in his hands.
"It's been a while hadn't it? How have you been?" Azami doesn't answer immediately, his taste buds still overwhelmed by that atrocity of a dish. He accepts another glass of liquor from Dojima and downs it, trying his best to ignore the piercing stares from Soe.
Is it time to confess his sins?
What if he doesn't wish to? And why should he if he was going to go to jail anyway? Do his words even mean anything?
He soldiers on.
"It's has been a while, Saiba-senpai, Dojima-senpai, and...brother-in-law." Azami sneaks a glance to gauge Soe's reaction, and there was none. As stoic as always.
"I have been fine." He reaps what he sows, and gets what he earned. The past few years were tough he admits, but not enough to break him.
His resolve to defeat Senzaemon had never been stronger, and the fact that he was able to see that look of defeat on his face many times, Azami was satisfied.
Now Senzaemon can't look down on him anymore.
"Heh, you've always been the one to lie straight through your teeth." Joichiro chuckles, "Well, it seems that you've been worrying about me since that day I left and went through a tough time."
