Charlotte
Once Liam left my room, I waited for the click of the door before pushing the covers off my face.
Over the past week I could hear him getting more exhausted by the day. Theo slept over every day and I was glad that he had someone.
I heard him walk down the stairs and I sat my body up tiredly, lifting my legs over the side of the bed and standing up, my body wobbled slightly until I grabbed the side of my bedside table, knocking something over in the process. I look up to see the bottle pills knocked over on the desk.
I sighed heavily and walked over to my drawers.
I was still in my bloodied lacrosse uniform from nearly two weeks ago and I felt dirty. Dried blood still stuck to my skin and my hair was basically an entire knot.
I grabbed a pair of joggers and a jumper from my drawers before walking into the bathroom and locking the door. I strip out of my uniform and step into the shower, turning on the water and letting my skin be blessed with the warmth.
I sit in the shower for almost an hour, washing and conditioning my hair and washing my body.
I get out of the shower and grabbing some new underwear, slipping it on along with my pyjamas. I pull my hair into a low ponytail and walk out of the bathroom.
I feel much cleaner and even a little bit happier.
I avoided my reflection as best as I could. There was no way I would've been able to look at my puffy eyes, pale and slim face without bursting into tears.
I slowly open my bedroom door, anxiety pooling in my stomach as I step onto the hardwood of the corridor floor.
I make my way to the staircase with my hand dragging along the wall, my legs shaky from lying in bed for days.
I make my way to the top of the stairs, everyone's voices suddenly seem to make their way into my brain and it was as if I was hearing again for the first time.
The tv playing in the background as Theo and Liam had their own conversation. I heard two more heartbeats which I recognised to be my mother and Stiles.
I slowly made my way down the stairs, I was lucky that they were all too busy to hear me.
Once I get to the bottom of the stairs I lurk by the door for a second watching everyone. Stiles was sat on the L shape sofa facing the tv, my mother was facing away from me chopping up some vegetables and Theo and Liam sat at the island, again, facing away from me. I was actually kind of grateful though.
I sighed slowly before walking into the room, as soon as I passed the island Liam and Theo became silent, I could feel their stares on my back, I walked over to the smaller sofa, sitting down and pulling my knees to my chest.
I could feel all of their eyes on me but I stared at the tv,watching the news for whatever reason.
I still felt empty, even in the room with four other people I still felt utterly alone, like a piece of me was missing and I had no idea how I would get it back.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Stiles stand up and move towards me, sitting down on the sofa beside me. At first, he hesitates, watching me closely but I try my best to pay him no attention.
He puts his hand over mine and I so badly want to leave it there, to give him the reaction he deserves but I slowly pull away as the story on the news changes.
A lady with brown hair and pale skin showed up on the screen, she was stood in front of a forest with dozens of police cars surrounding her. She held a microphone to her lips as the wind blew slightly at her hair.
"16 bodies were found here three nights ago and police are still looking for more evidence as to what could have happened here. At the moment it seems like an animal attack but police aren't ruling out foul play. We have so far been able to identify 4 of the bodies: Cameron Wright, Elizabeth Conrworn, James Devon and Sean Dunbar."
She continued talking but I stopped paying attention when I heard something clattering from in the kitchen, I look over to see my mother holding her hands out in front of her as if she was holding something, I look down to see that she was, a shattered plate lay across the floor. She had a twisted expression of distraught anger and it honestly kind of scared me.
I was only just reminded of Sean's death, so much had been on my mind that I had completely forgotten that I killed him.
"What the fuck did you do?!" My mother screamed, tears in her eyes as she stared at me.
I didn't answer, I don't exactly know what she was expecting me to say.
"Did you kill him? He was your father, I... I loved him.." she sobbed and I didn't even feel the smallest bit of sympathy for her.
I met her with silence again.
"You know what? We should have left you in France! Left you to die on one of those beds! We would've been better off!" She yelled and turned to walk out of the room.
Her words didn't hurt me like they usually would, they were there one minute and gone the next, I didn't care about what she said and that was probably more concerning to everyone.
I didn't answer her back because there was nothing I could say, nothing I wanted to say, to comfort her. I wasn't sorry for what I had done, he deserved it and he spent his last minutes alive taking the last thing from me he could.
I felt all of their eyes stick on me as I turn my attention back to the tv, I don't care what she said, this was much more important.
Sheriff Stilinski was then Introduced on tv, the woman holding the microphone on front of his face.
"So, sheriff, what are your opinions on this situation?" She asked and he looked at the camera for a split second and it's almost as if he was staring straight at me.
"I think it could just be another animal attack, there has been lots of sightings recently of what people can only be described as coyotes. But we are not ruling out anything just yet." He said and the camera flicks back to the other woman.
"That's all we have for now, make sure to check in with us again for the latest updates, I'm Alisia Cook and you're watching Bucket News." She said and a stream of adverts started playing, that was when I drew my attention away from the tv and stared at the coffee table in the middle of the room.
Hopefully Sheriff Stilinski will cover this up because we couldn't afford to go to prison, not with Monroe still on the loose.
I stand up from the sofa and walk into the kitchen, looking over to see what my mother was making. She was in the middle of chopping up onions and I knew she was making pasta rigatoni.
It takes me almost 15 minutes to make everything and then I let it cook, there was easily enough for a family of six but I was really hungry and couldn't just make food for myself.
Theo and Liam spent the time passing light conversation between themselves whilst Stiles watched tv.
Once the food was done I set it out into four different bowls, filling mine a little more and leaving leftovers in the fridge for my mother if she ever decided to eat it.
I set out the three plates, earning thank yous and appreciative yet worried glances. I still hadn't said a word to any of them but I didn't quite feel that it was the right time.
