When we got to Theo's house, he unlocked the door and we walked in, I followed him to his room and put my bag down. As I was used to staying at Theo's house, I didn't actually need to pack much because he already had most things that I might need.

We decided to make food, or, correction - he would make it and I would watch, I was a shit cook.

I sat at his dining table and watched as he moved from the cooker to the fridge and back again.

I don't know what it was about his apartment but I much preferred it over my own house.

Maybe because it was smaller it didn't feel so lonely.

When Charlotte was in France, my mother was just as absent as she has been these past few months so I was left alone quite a lot, I guess that just grew to me associating my house with being lonely.

Theo's his apartment also just felt like an easier space. As it was his and only his, he got to decorate it however he wanted, this made it feel simpler and not as fancy.

I sighed heavily, running a hand through my hair.

"What happened ?" Theo asked turning to me for just a second.

"My dad came back." I said simply, still kind of stunned myself.

"But I thought he-" he started.

"Left? Yeah me too. My mother brought him back and we just talked, we sat down and had an actual conversation, all four of us, for the first time in almost a decade."

"How did Charlotte take it? I remember you telling me everything that happened."

"She was angry, god, it turned into a fighting match. She's staying with Stiles I think, at least until all of this calms down a little bit."

"And what about you?" He asked, looking over at me.

"I'm not sure yet. I mean, in some ways I want him to come back, I want to be a happy family but at the same time I can't forgive him for everything he has done to me, Charlotte or even my mother."

"I get that, you want everything to work out and that makes complete sense."

"Turns out though, it wasn't his fault. Apparently he's bipolar."

"Wait but..." he started but became lost.

"Yeah. I guess maybe that's why Charlotte is the way she is, they want her to get tested, you know."

"You think she will?"

"No. She's too stubborn, she thinks that her current meds are fine and she doesn't need to switch them."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'm not sure. I know that I'll have to let everyone cool down a little first but then I guess... we have to talk?" I guessed.

"Sounds like the most logical thing to me." He prepared the rest of the food and brought it over to the table where he sat down and began to eat.

"I think we should tell the others about us." He said, looking up from his food.

"And why would you want to do that?" I asked, I half thought that he was joking.

"Because then we don't have to sneak around. Plus, if the group finds out about your dad and it even slips that you aren't living at home, where will you say you're staying?" He asked and genuinely hadn't thought about it like that.

"Here."

"But I don't have a guest room, where would you be sleeping?"

"The sofa?"

"I think they're already sceptical and it's not like they're homophobic or anything. Plus if they did have something to say you k ow that Charlotte would immediately put them in their place, no matter how close she has become with them you can tell that she'd do anything to protect you." He said.

I held my head down. Everything he said was completely true so why didn't I want to tell them?

"How would we even tell them? 'Oh, hey guys, so me and Theo have been dating for the best part of a year and we didn't tell you.'" I said humourosly.

"Well, maybe not quite as sarcastic as that but yeah, pretty much. They won't say anything and if they do then screw 'em." He said confidently.

"Unfortunately, it's not quite so easy just to 'screw them'."

"And why is that?"

"Because Scott is my alpha."

"That's true. At the same time, you know that they won't say anything bad. They aren't like that."

"I guess."
