I didn't know what had happened, all I know what I couldn't move. I tried to rack my brain to figure out what had happened, I remember walking upstairs to get some papers from the main office and that's it.

My eyes look around frantically taking on what I can see wood, bricks anything. I'm guessing there was a bomb? Fire? Collapse? but I couldn't be sure.

"Ah!" I screamed. I looked down noticing a piece of wood sticking out well that's not good I had to do something quick. I pried my arm up that was under a piece of wood and fumbled to get my phone out of my pocket and call someone

Calling joe....

When it turns off I groan. He hung up on me

"Hello? You can't call me ave I'm working" I sigh in relief bringing my phone to my ear

Joe Cruz POV

Squad 3 ambulance 61, truck 81. Building collapse.

We all rushed into our uniforms and onto the truck in our way to the collapse

Avery calling.. I quickly hung up looking and flipped my phone over

"Something happened joe. Something happened to the building. There's wood in my chest. Joe I don't think I'm going to make it" my eyes teared up

"Please tell me your not on 54 west avenue" I heard her choke up a sob

"I am.." I leaned back in my seat

"Listen Avery. Hold on I'm on my way. Stay awake for me please" i told her pathetically. I looked around the truck noticing everyone tuned in on our conversational on
"Remember when I was in the hospital? Avery? What did you tell me?"

"So you listen to your own advice. Stay awake"

"Avery don't talk like that please. I'm on my way"

"Tell Leon I love him too please" I saw the collapsed building in site

"Avery I'm right outside, stay awake for me" The phone went dead and i stood looking up at it in shock.

"Joe we're gonna do all we can. She's gonna be fine" once the truck stopped we all jumped out the truck and Casey was already barking orders

"We need everyone on. We need to get as much concrete away and make a passage for anyone to get out" they all nodded and jumped into action

"Careful this weighs tons" all together we picked up a giant piece and set it on the floor and carried on until there was an opening
