I stepped out of the room ready for my date with Elijah. My hands were shaking with nerves, it wasn't our first date or anything. We've had loads but the way he made me feel, made it feel like it was

Knock knock

I look at the time 7:00pm on the dot. Not even a minute late. Typical Elijah. I smiled as I walked over to the door and opened it. His eyes met mine and then trailed over the rest of my body slowly
"You look amazing Bailey" i smiled glancing down

"You look amazing to Elijah"

He walked forward bringing me closer to him
"I almost don't want to go now" he mutters before bringing his lips down to meet mine

He took me to a restaurant. A very fancy one
"Elijah. This is- it's too much" he rubbed circles on our interlaced fingers and walked up to the seating lady.

As soon as he looked at her I could tell I was in for a long night. Her eyes dragged across his frame like a predator to its prey and she made it clear for me to see.

"A table for 2 please" Elijah said trying to stop her lingering gaze. She nodded before walking us to where we will be sitting

"Here, you go. If you feel like you need anything feel free to ask" she says directing it to Elijah, even though she just seated people she made it clear she would do whatever he wanted. I looked down uncomfortably. How do people have the audacity to do this in front of others?
"Here's your menu" she handed us the menus and left but not before glancing back at Elijah

"I'm sorry about her" he mutters lacing his fingers with mine over the table
"It's okay, it's not your fault Lijah" he smile putting down his menu
"I'm guessing you've been here before. Is there anything you recommend?"
"Yes actually the Pasta with Lamb Ragù was really good" i nod putting my menu down
"Okay" the waiter comes over a minute later and is more polite than the other one. She didn't linger her eyes on Elijah although you could tell she was attracted to him. But you can't fault her for that. Elijah is an attractive man, of course he was gonna get some looks

The meal went great. Me and Elijah were laughing the whole time and talking about any and everything.
"I'm just gonna go to the bathroom before we leave. Do you mind?"

"No, go ahead" I walked away from the table and headed to the bathroom and did whatever I needed to do

Once I was out I opened the door of the bathroom which was right in front of the staff room when I heard the woman eyes Elijah talking
"Gosh he should just take off my clothes already" her and the person she was talking laughed at that
"And that girl he's with. Not even pretty. How does someone that good looking end up with someone looking like that?" My heart clenched. The distaste in her voice when she said that made all my insecurities heighten. Was I really looking that bad? I rushed back into the toilet and stood in front of the mirror picking everything bad about me out

When I finally gained courage to leave the bathroom I Elijah was already up and out of his seat
"Hey I just put the check in. Are you okay? you took long" I nodded and avoided his eyes

"I'm okay, ready to go?" He put his hand on the small of my back and lead me out of the restaurant

"Bailey, are you gonna tell me what's wrong?" He said once he walked me to my porch.

"There's nothing wrong" I tried to make my voice sound believable but it didn't work out
"Are you staying the night?" I ask ignoring the question

"I just need to sort some things out but I'll be here in about 30 minutes"

I got out the shower and changed into my pyjamas before making myself comfortable on my bed, watching the tv in front of me

Knock knock

I smiled slightly as I got up and opened the balcony door to Elijah

"Hey baby" I gave him a kiss before going back into bed. he then stripped down till he was in his boxers and got in the bed with me

"I don't like seeing you like this babe. Tell me what's bothering you. Please" he mumbled into my ear softly

"It's not really a big deal" I tried to reason

"If it got you upset then it is. So tell me babe"

"It was just. I was walking out the bathroom and I heard a few workers saying things about us. They were saying how good looking you were and how they wanted to rip your clothes of, but it's not that. I know your attractive and so does anyone with a right mind. But then they spoke about me saying I was: plain, and just picking things out about me and... it just made me wonder why? Why would someone like you would choose to go out with someone like me?" I finally looked up at Elijah and he rubbed a tear that I didn't know me fell off my face

"I didn't choose you. I gravitated towards you. Your kindness, your beauty inside and out. I just couldn't keep away from you. There's nothing about you that I don't like and I'm gonna help you until you think the same as well" he leaned down and locked his lips with mine
"I hate how them girls made you feel Bailey. Your so much better than them" he mumbles stroking my hair

"I love you Elijah. Thank you"

"I love you too Bailey. And I always will"
