Talking about boys with the girls of her school meant boredom, every time they started speaking about who they thought was cute and who was hot, Y/n pretended to listen and rambled in her head watching the tunnel walls through the window.
"So... my cousin was telling me about these two hot bad guys of her school, they beat everyone who defies them, even the seniors."
"They must be strong..."
"They have our age, and one of them has a dragon tattoo on the skull. Isn't it cool? She said that they are intending to form a gang!"
By now, the girl speaking had all of Y/n's attention.
"Whoa! I would like to meet them, they sure are hotties!"
"They might be dangerous, haven't you thought of it?"
"You're right, Y/n." The girl next to her stayed frozen by her comment. "This is our stop, aren't you coming?"
"I'm going to run some errands, see you later." She waved them goodbye as the subway doors closed.
She made her way to Mikey's favorite dessert cafeteria once she got to the right stop.
There they were eating their parfaits, oblivious that the girl was approaching stomping her steps in their direction.
"So...I heard that a group of idiots was planning to start a gang." She said in a harsh tone feet away from the table to catch them by surprise. Her scowl was making the marks on her forehead noticeable.
"Y/n!" The group of idiots exclaimed watching her coming their way, flinching scared.
They seemed like little kids that had done a prank and were about to be scolded by their parents, all six of them with their eyes fixed on the table and playing with their hands under it when she stood beside them.
Every time that one of them was about to speak, her cold gaze made chills travel their bodies and shut up, the silence was awkward to bear.
"Hm... want to share?"
She rolled her eyes but sat beside her black-haired friend on the long seat, making the three on the same side heaped. "You know the potential consequences of having a gang, right?"
Everyone nodded even though she wasn't looking at them when taking a spoon of the dessert.
"Then, why are you doing this?" Her collected face and tone were more frightening than if she would be screaming. "Are you willing to risk your lives?"
"We will put our lives on the line to protect each other and who we care about. All for one and one for all."
"That's so cheesy, Kei." She finally giggled at how proud he sounded, making everyone finally relax, releasing the long breath they were holding.
"I'm serious, stop making fun of me!"
Everyone followed the laughs for a moment until out of the blue, she turned downcast, slipping on the seat and looking at the ceiling, lost in her thoughts, it was like nobody was at the cafeteria.
The depression after her dad's death was something she was still fighting against at the time, after all, he was the one who had raised her most of the time while her mother was job traveling. The gang topic was triggering the negative emotions and memories she wanted to repress.
When his father left his gang for the woman he loved, his right hand felt betrayed and took the leadership, leading the gang into shady business until he got imprisoned. In his psycho mind, the responsibility for the latest result was no one else but the former leader, if he hadn't left, the prisoner wouldn't be in that place. After years of waiting, he finally got released and the first thing he did was to take revenge on his old lad.
