"Why did Izana protect his servant?" Kisaki fell on his butt, regretting what he had done. He had been the one who finished ruining his plan.

The people around were confused. The ones who had seen the scene couldn't believe it, and others started to gossip, spreading the tragic event.

Tenjiku higher-ups were bewildered, watching both guys lay limp on the ground. Mucho screamed in fear for someone to call an ambulance, panicking the atmosphere even more.

Kakucho lay on the ground, gasping for air in shock after being pushed and saved. He looked at his side to find out that Izana got shot in his place.

A cry got stuck in Y/n's chest. It was almost physically impossible for her to continue living. The sickening state, the broken bones, the bleeding wound, and the shattering of her soul were making her reach her limits.

Mikey by her side, taking care that she wouldn't lose consciousness, was speechless and taken aback. He was thinking about how life could be so unfair, taking two siblings from him on the same day.

Izana rolled over, facing the sky and coughing blood with a carefree demeanor when his young follower asked why he had protected him. "My body moved on its own."

"Mikey," his low voice made the boy stand and approach to listen better. "There's something I want to tell you. It's Tenjiku's defeat." He tried to snicker, making Kakucho even more anxious.

"That's enough. You don't have to say it." Seeing him on the verge of death drove the heavenly king to despair. "Why did you save me?! You're a King, and I'm trash anyone could throw away. Didn't you have an era to build?"

"It's our era, okay?" Izana finally acknowledged that Kakucho was the only one who stuck with him unconditionally.

The yearning words made the younger break into tears.

"Mikey, you said you wanted to save me, right?"

"Of course. You're my brother." The blond tried to stay strong in front of the rest. "You don't need to talk, Izana."

"My queen-" He choked on his blood and took the chance to rephrase his next question, trying to find the girl with his eyes and stretching his arm. "Y/n, are you still there?"

She pushed herself to crawl until reaching him from the top of his head and took his hand. The instant the girl looked into his eyes, she knew what he wanted her to do.

"No, he doesn't need to know it." Y/n shook her head slightly, knowing the truth at this moment would bring more sorrow than good.

"Know what?" Mikey sounded alarmed.

"If you don't, I will."

"I made a promise." She murmured, looking away.

"Shinichiro made you carry a heavy burden all these years." Izana rubbed her cheek with a smile, trying to calm her from worrying. "He should have let you tell Emma back then. Everything would have been different."

The dying guy told Mikey how he found out the supposed woman to be his mother wasn't related to him. "That's right. You, Shinichiro, Emma, and I aren't siblings. I'm related to no one at all. There is no way to save me, right?"

The girl noticed how his voice became quieter, letting the tears fill his eyes in silence and showing the pain loneliness caused him. She tried to cheer him up, at least for the last time.

"Do you know what Shin told me once?" She claimed his attention after gently wiping away his tears. "It didn't matter how many times you rejected him. Shin would always receive you because you were special and important to him."
