Hanging out with a grown-up guy was such a different experience. He was thoughtful, offering to carry her stuff, opening the car door, and letting her pick the music.

The ride was silent, causing Y/n to remind her new hassle. Her mood turned to gloom and sad, noticing the lights were shut off over their destination.

"Pull over."

Mucho did what she asked, even though they were a block away. He observed her cautiously dialing a number on her phone with her eyes locked on the house.

"Mom, did I wake you up?"

"Sort of. Do you want me to pick you up? I'll be there in 20."

"No, I'm on my way. Just want to let you know." Somberly, Y/n hung up before hunching herself, embracing her legs.

"What was that?"

This girl was such a mystery. One moment she was winning a plushie, enjoying time with the girls, humming a song over the trip, and the other, she was breaking down.

"Nothing. Thanks for taking me." Y/n fastly collected her things to get off, but the boy wrapped her wrist. "This doesn't concern you!"

His face was stoic, letting her know he wouldn't back off at her rude attitude. "It doesn't matter if it's not my business. Do you think making childish outbursts will fix whatever you're going through?"

"No."

"That's right. Take a deep breath, and calm down." Finally releasing her limb, his hand stroked her head when she sunk her face into the plush gorilla.

"Is this how you tamed Sanzu?" She turned over her face, making his hand caress her cheek, lightly grinning by feeling his touch.

"But don't tell him." Mucho cleared his throat and sat straight again when starting to feel a weird need to keep on feeling her skin and the pleasure of making her feel calm. "Now, if you feel like talking, I'm not in a rush anyway."

"Better not. What if you don't believe me too?"

The boy felt her anxious, holding harder on the animal and avoiding his direction, the kind of apprehension he could notice when interrogating a suspect.

"Have you ever lied to me?" The tall guy couldn't understand why he was so eager to know what was on her mind so he could help her. He hated her downcast face. "Try me."

After a deep breath, Y/n let him know about the unexpected twist things took of having her mother think she was lying and mentally unstable.

"Watching at her behavior, I know she's hiding something. Also, she's afraid of me. It won't be long until fulfilling her will of getting me medical aid and taking me out of here, whatever that means."

On top of that, earlier, Y/n had offered the woman to hang out, and she assured her that she would come to rest. What a lie. It was just a matter of minutes for the woman to return in a rush so her daughter wouldn't notice her absence, leaving the entrance light on.

Y/n heard him release a long, thoughtful sigh, rubbing his chin.

"I'm boring you. I should go in now. She must have prepared an undeserved, stupid scolding for being late." The girl sneered sarcastically.

To her surprise, he intently listened and prevented her from getting out of the vehicle again. "Where do you think she could have gone, or who she could have called? Friends, family?"

"You know that she's barely here. It's hard to think she has many friends, and regarding family, she cut off relationships with them when she married. I don't even know them."
