"I swear I'm fine!" She whined at the phone, looking through the cab's window. "It's just a contusion... A tough one. I'll get a pretty ugly bruise, but aside from that, everything is okay. I'll see you tomorrow, mom. I love you, have a nice flight."

It was predictable that Y/n's mother would get concerned and frightened watching the bank mail with a hospital bill after using the emergency credit card.

Before entering her place, she remembered the next hassle she would have to confront.

'Please be asleep. Please be asleep.'

She got in, trying to be silent as opening the door, but her plan of being unseen failed. Her night guardian was eating chips watching the TV, wide awake and waiting for her in his usual spot over the sofa. "You're late." He spoke in a bored tone before turning his head, dropping his jaw and the bag of chips in shock. "What the hell happened!?"

Defeated, she threw her stuff on the door after locking it as her dad always requested. "It's not what it seems." Rolling her eyes walked to fetch something for dinner, ignoring his critical stare.

"A broken nose? Who did this? It was them, right? I'll kill'em."

"Yeah, I dare you." Nonchalantly, the girl took stuff to do a sandwich when a knock came from the entrance. "Are you expecting someone?" The boy was about to explode in anger at her indifferent mood and the stupid question. "You've been almost living here, wouldn't be strange for you to have guests. Open the door, Haru." Exasperated and not caring about who might be, she savagely cut the veggies over the counter.

"Did I get the wrong house?" A soft voice asked, looking at the property number from the outside. "I could swear it was here."

"Come in, Seishu!" She yelled, knowing her guardian possibly would rudely shut the door in his face.

"Y/n?" His eyes shone hearing her voice and followed it, leaving the other slamming the door with hooded eyes. "Are you o-...?" He had to swallow to get rid of the dryness of his throat by watching her patched up and silently crying for the second time today. Though the girl was scowling and piling the ingredients over the bread, her hands were shaking. "I should have stepped in... done something..."

"Get away from her, black dragon." Sanzu menacingly placed himself between them, holding the knife she left before Inupi could give another step forward to Y/n.

"Don't be ridiculous, stop." Wiping her face with the rim of her sweater, she swiftly took the knife from him. "It wasn't him. It was entirely my fault."

"Don't try to cover him. Everyone knows what Taiju is capable of." The blonde was worried that she would start lying like Yuzuha, hiding the truth and bringing excuses up.

Irritated at herself for being so clumsy and distracted, Y/n scoffed cynically, turning to finish the first meal. "If it would've been him, I would've run straight to the police, not the hospital. There you go, stop eating trash." She gave the sandwich to Sanzu and swirled around, making the next one. "Do you want one?"

"Damn, I don't get you." Walking to his previous spot in front of the TV, Sanzu mumbled when she appeared to be suddenly relaxed.

"Where's Koko?" Y/n ignored Inupi's denial, knowing he was shy to accept the food, giving him the next plate.

"Thanks... He had to go with Taiju."

"I'm sorry for him. I left the big man pretty angered." Her hunger was too much that she didn't care about talking with her mouth full, trying to avoid the boy's gaze when both were eating at the counter side by side, leaning and resting their elbows on the surface. "I feel guilty."
