"Miss isn't it a wonderful day!?"

"Every day is the same."

"Don't say that. This day is special for you. I see you haven't packed up your things. I thought you would be more excited to leave." The lovely nurse came in to check up on the young girl like every morning, running the curtains to let the sun enter the dull room.

"Don't joke with me, Niko. My internment is indefinite. Besides, I don't have anywhere to go."

"Didn't the night shift nurse let you know? The doctors said you've been stable long enough. Someone is picking you up today. Congratulations, Y/n! Though I'll miss you, I hope you can enjoy life out of here. You deserve it. You've been such a good patient." The nurse looked at the spaced-off girl, watching across the window. "Come on, take a shower and get ready!" She cheerfully animated her before leaving to check her next patient.

She couldn't feel the supposed excitement of leaving her prison for the past three years. The mentally recovered girl followed the woman to the exit when she came to collect her.

Before officially releasing Y/n, her favorite nurse hugged her goodbye and gifted her a single flower. "Happy 19th birthday, sweetie."

"Thanks for taking good care of me. I'll miss you too."

Y/n turned to leave, taking the single backpack with the few belongings. The young lady halted, astonished when the person who came out of the lux car waiting for her wasn't her mother. Instead, there he was.

His angelic smile was faint, nothing like the one he used to light up the world. His eyes could no longer hide the pain, but for a brief moment, they regained their light when the girl, without hesitation, threw herself at him.

Her tears flowed down, getting to see him again, and she didn't want to let go because his arms around her made the girl feel saved. He felt the same and a longing warmth when she ran her fingers across his scalp.

"Let's go home, Y/n." He said, relieved having her again.

The Extasis of the reunion blurred her mind at first when she followed him inside the vehicle. She got lost in the boy who finally came for her to take her... home?

When he lazily squeezed her hand before his face turned expressionless, observing through the window like he wanted to hide it, the suspiciousness of the situation caught her.

"Manjiro, where are we going exactly?"

"It's a surprise, don't worry. Once we get there, you will have all the answers."

"I-I'm not sure about this. I want to get back. I'm not feeling okay. It was a bad idea to leave." Her breath started to heaven, and she tried to open the door, not caring if the car was moving, but it had a security lock. "Mikey, let me go."

He slid on the seat and took her shoulders, turning her body at him. Even if he looked thinner, the boy was still strong, capturing her fighting arms. "Y/n, please..."

This new person in front of her was miserable. Y/n could sense the desperation behind his emotionless face and vacant eyes. Deep inside was a boy screaming for help even if he didn't show it. They had always been good at finding out how the other felt without needing to say so.

There was no one else who could understand them better.

It broke her heart remembering what they used to say, causing her to stop her confrontation. She couldn't refuse the silent pleading.

It wasn't fair that she had been spending peaceful time in the hospital, healing past wounds, while he stayed depressed, still mentally wrecked.

"I'm going to take care of you, Manjiro." He drowned in her arms in solace, just like a little child.
