Aegon "Alex" Targaryen ~ Yunkai ~ Camp of Daenerys' army

Yunkai can be seen in the distance. It is made of yellow stone giving it a peculiar and distinct color. Daenerys along with her top advisors are looking towards it. "Yunkai. The Yellow city," Ser Jorah says. "The Yunkish train bed slaves. We can defeat them," Ser Barristan says. I shrug a bit. "I don't know. They'll have been preparing for us. The events in Astapor will have reached them. Taking Yunkai will not be that easy. Many will die," I interjected.

Ser Jorah nods in agreement. "I suspect you're right, and they won't meet us on the open battlefield either," Ser Jorah continues. Daenerys sighs. "I don't want half my army killed before I have crossed the narrow sea," she says. Ser Jorah looks at her. "We don't need Yunkai, Khaleesi. Taking this city will not bring you any closer to Westeros or the Iron Throne," Ser Jorah says.

"We marched her to free the oppressed, Jorah. If Daenerys wished to take the Iron Throne now, we would have set sail westward," I say. Daenerys smiles at me. She commands Grey Worm to set up camp before turning to Jorah again. "Alex is right. We will make camp here. They will send someone to meet with me soon if they are wise," Daenerys says.

We return to camp as a message is sent to the Masters of Yunkai. They will come tomorrow to speak with Daenerys. It probably won't get us much except maybe for some gold. As I was about to walk to my tent, Daenerys motioned to me to follow her. "Alex, I want to speak with you for a moment," she says. I nod and start to follow her.

When we are alone, she turns to me. "They will send someone tomorrow. Is there anything I need to know?" she asks. I shake my head. "No, nothing noteworthy. It is probably for the best if you don't know everything Daenerys. Events may play out differently than I remember. We need to avoid that," I explained. Daenerys nods a bit.

For some reason, her cheeks turn slightly red. "Uhm, would you like to have dinner with me, in my tent?" she asks softly. "Sure, if you'd like." Daenerys smiles. "I asked, didn't I?" She chuckles. "That you did, I will freshen myself up and see you soon, alright?" Daenerys nods rather happily. "Perfect."

I leave to ready myself for dinner. It does not take long before I am ready to meet Daenerys. I take a quick bath and put on fresh clothes before heading towards Daenerys. The camp is definitely having tighter security as we are close to Yunkai. As I move through the tents towards Daenerys, I come across Jorah. He sits near a fire with some drink in his hand.

Jorah looks at me as I pass him. "Alex, can I have a moment of your time?" He asks. I stop walking and turn to him. "Of course, but Daenerys is expecting me," I answer as I sit down close to him. "It won't take long. I only have one question. How did you know about my... previous occupation? Only Barristan may have known, and he hasn't said anything yet," he asks.

I sigh. "I can't really answer that, Jorah. It is something I found out by observing and knowing how to read people. But, as I said before, you shouldn't wait too long. Daenerys will be angry but she is not without forgiveness," I say. Jorah takes a sip from his waterskin. It probably has some alcohol in it. "Perhaps, I won't keep you any longer. I'll think about what you said," he says. I give him a sympathetic smile. "It is for the best, Jorah. We may not know each other well, but we can be friendly with each other. If I may, I suggest talking to her after we take, Yunkai," I say and stand back up. "I think you're right. Have a good night, Alex. See you tomorrow," Jorah says. "To you as well, Ser. " I say and continue my walk towards Daenerys.

It does not take much longer as I eventually enter the tent of Daenerys. The interior of the tent is a bit different from before. It feels somehow warmer and more inviting. Daenerys has set up a table with food, it seems a person with not much experience in cooking made it. Even so, it looks delicious. On the table a few candles are burning, the ground is covered with carpets and tapestries have been hung. Furthermore, Missandei is nowhere to be seen. It is just me and Daenerys. This seems more like a date than a simple dinner.
