Aegon "Alex" Targaryen
In Yunkai, we do the same as we did in Astapor. Daenerys makes sure a functioning government is put in place along with a force to keep the peace. On another note, Daenerys and I have been developing our relationship. We often talk during our visits to the local garden or just in our room. We have been trying to get a child. It has not yet succeeded and Daenerys is worried that it is the curse. I assured her that it will be fine. I can safely say that I am very happy with her and I hope she is happy with me. That's all I really want, not the fame or rank that comes with it. All in all, we stay in Yunkai close to a month, one thing I was curious about was the condition of Astapor. According to Jorah, the city has been doing relatively well but is still struggling. I guess that is to be expected. I hope it does not follow the same fate it did in the show.
We have been on the march for a few days and this time towards Meereen. The greatest of the three slavers cities and a place were a lot of things will happen. It may be changed if both Yunkai and Astapor do not fall to despots. Time will tell, I suppose. I ride next to Daenerys as we leave the city. The Unsullied march next to us and the three men ride behind us.
I look briefly around to see who is near us. It seems Missandei is off to Grey Worm and the knights are somewhat distanced from us as they ride with Daario. At least no one is near us that would be able to understand us. "Love, I have to say something important. It is not good news," I say to her. A sigh leaves Daenerys as she turns to me. "What is going to happen?" She asks hesitantly. "Meereen will have heard of Astapor and Yunkai. They have... crucified children to deter you," I say.
Daenerys looks in shock at me. "What?!" she asks in disbelief. "It is the truth. They will be seen when we are around 160 miles from Meereen. It will be gruesome," I explain softly in a saddened tone. Daenerys is becoming angry. "How many?" She asks bitterly. "One child at each mile marker. I am sorry to tell you this, Dany," I say softly. She nods, her anger is clear as day. Daenerys remains rather quiet for the next few hours.
"Shall we stop for a moment. I need to calm down," Daenerys says. I nod and follow her to the side of the road. As we both dismount our horses, we are looking towards the bay called Slaver's Bay. This land is beautiful if I am honest. It's peaceful and calming when you forget about the practice of slavery. As we talk, we turn around when we hear someone approaching. We see Daario approaching us with his hands behind his back.
"Oh, we forgot to tell them. You may have to break a heart, Dany," I whisper to her. Daenerys rolls her eyes as Daario joins us. "My queen, I need to speak to you about something important," he says. Daenerys looks at him expectantly. "A matter of strategy," he says and gives her look that says he wants some privacy. "Aegon can hear this matter of strategy. What is this matter of strategy you speak off?" She asks.
Daario looks at me for a moment before pulling out a blue flower. "Dust Grouse," he says. Daenerys rolls her eyes. She starts to walk back to the horses and I follow her. "Would you like to ride at the back of the train?" She asks. I try to hold my laughter in, but some chuckles still leave my lips. Daario is undeterred as he pulls out yellow coloured flowers. "This one's called Lady's Lace," he continues. "Would you like to walk at the back of the train?" Daenerys asks. "I hate to break it to you, Daario..." I start to say and wrap my arm around Daenerys' waist. She in turn smiles at me. "But we are officially betrothed. Daenerys proposed to me and I accepted," I say to him.
He raises his eyebrows. "Well, that's certainly big news. When were you planning to tell us?" He asks. "In the evening, but it seems you have the honor to be notified first," Daenerys says. Daario smiles a bit. "I see, I hope you'll be happy with each other," he says. "Thank you, Daario. I appreciate your words," Daenerys says. "Do you still want the flowers?" He asks, chuckling softly. Daenerys shrugs. "Why not, they are beautiful," she says. "Be careful with the red flower, it is poisonous when it is brewed as a tea. The blue one however will ease a fever," he says. "Thank you, Daario. You're a kind man," She says. He bows and leaves us in peace.
