Emma and (Y/n) took Michael to the park to get some energy out and feed the ducks. He had played at the park for a while before he decided it was time to feed the ducks.

Once the family got to the pond Michael gave all the ducks some bread. There was a baby duck too and Michael tried to give that duck a lot of bread.

While Emma and (Y/n) weren't looking Michael stuck the baby duck in his jacket pocket. He closed the pocket halfway so the duck didn't fall out but also enough where it could get air.

"What are you doing?" (Y/n) asked when he saw Michael fiddling with his jacket pockets zipper. "Nothin." Michael mumbled, and (Y/n) caught a glimpse of the duck. "Is there a duck in your pocket?" He asked. "Mummy said we could bring it home." Michael told his father, feeing guilty he lied but also really wanting to keep the duck. "Oh." He whispered, confused on why Emma would ever say yes to that.

After they fed the ducks they walked back to the car and Michael was silent the entire time, making Emma suspicious. Michael was never this quiet unless he was sick. And he wasn't sick right now. He also kept touching his shirt, which also made Emma confused.

"What are you doing?" Emma asked the next time he touched his shirt. "I wanna feel Spider-Man." Michael lied again while patting the Spider-Man printed on his jacket, trying to not let his mother figure out the duck was in his pocket. Emma gave (Y/n) a look of confusion. "Maybe it's one of those days?" (Y/n) whispered to her, also looking very confused. Emma didn't know what that meant but just decided to go with it so she didn't have to find out.

Emma also came to two conclusions on why Michael was acting this way. He either broke her favorite vase and felt guilty or snuck a duck home somehow. By now they were in the car about to drive home.

"Please just tell me he broke the vase." Emma whispered. "Which vase?" (Y/n) asked, making Emma look at him in shock. "Oh! Maybe he's making his duck comfortable." He added quickly so Emma didn't figure out (Y/n) and Michael had broken many vases and kept replacing them so she didn't find out.

Michael facepalmed before Emma turned to face him, silently asking if it was true. Michael nodded guiltily.

"Turn the car around." Emma told (Y/n) and they made their way back to the park. The car was silent on the way back to the park. At this point Michael would honestly prefer Emma yelling at him instead of the silence.

"Michael... you know we can't keep a duck." Emma started, being cut off by her son. "I can take care of him mummy! I can feed him and play with him and give him baths!" Michael told her, making her close her eyes and sigh. This was going to be harder then she thought.

"Michael, you told me that mummy let you keep the duck." (Y/n) pointed out, making Emma look at her husband as if he was crazy. "Why would I let him keep a duck?!" She asked him, and he shrugged. "I don't know, you can't say no to him half the time." He mumbled defensively. (Y/n) looked in the mirror to see Michael looking very guilty with the baby duck in his lap. (Y/n) sighed before speaking up again.

"Anyway, Michael as much as I want a baby duck, we can't keep him away from his family. It's like if someone took you away from us. We would be very worried about you and the ducks parents are probably very worried about the duck you have." (Y/n) told him.

Michael thought about it for a second before realizing his father was right. If someone took Michael away from his family he would be very upset and he knew his mum and dad would be very very worried.

"Sorry. Can we give the duck back now? I need to say sorry to his mummy and daddy too." Michael asked his parents. Emma looked over at (Y/n) silently thanking him for convincing Michael to go give the duck back.

Once they arrived back at the park Michael ran over to the pond with the duck and put him back in the water. "Sorry mummy and daddy duck." Michael told the other two ducks who swam over to the baby as soon as he was returned. They gave Michael a quick poke with their beaks since he took their baby. "Ow!" He squeaked before realizing why they poked him. "Sorry for taking your baby." Michael whispered again. The ducks seemed to forgive him and just swam off.

Now that the duck was safely back with his parents Michael, (Y/n) and Emma went back home. After seeing how much Michael wanted a baby duck, (Y/n) went online and got him the next best thing, a baby duck stuffed animal.
