Tee Ball

Emma and (Y/n) were sat in the stands of Michael's tee ball game. They had their sunglasses on, but people still knew who they were. Emma was taking pictures the whole time Michael was visible. (Y/n) and Michael always had played catch together with baseballs and gloves, and Michael liked playing catch, so they signed him up for tee ball.

This time, Michael's team was batting. Emma didn't care about the other kids on his team, and she didn't pay attention to them until it was Michael's turn. They weren't doing the whole three outs thing cause every kid had to have a chance to hit the ball before they could switch.

When it was Michael's turn to bat, Emma started taking pictures again. He didn't hit the ball off the tee for a few minutes, he just kept swinging the bat and not hitting the ball. Once he was able to hit it off the tee, it only went two inches away from him, and he didn't run. He just stood there until his coach told him to run. Once he was given instructions to run, he managed to get to first base.

The game kept going, and everyone ended up getting to home base lots of times since nobody ever got anyone out. None of the kids ever actually picked up the ball after it was hit. In (Y/n)'s opinion, this game wasn't very good. Emma loved it only because Michael was doing so well.

Once the hour ended and the game was over, everyone got to go home. Michael ran over to his parents and immediately took off his baseball glove. "Did you have fun?" Emma asked, grabbing Michael's hand as they walked across the street. "Yeah! I scored lots of times!" He shared, and (Y/n) nodded. "You were the best player they had." (Y/n) agreed.

Once the family got to the car, they made a detour. Instead of going home, they ended up at an ice cream shop. Emma gave him a look that meant no, since she was one of those no sugar until after dinner kind of mums, but it was too late for that. "Want some ice cream Michael?" (Y/n) asked, knowing he would say yes. "Yeah!" He accepted, and the two got out of the car. Emma eventually got out of the car as well, and they sat down and had some ice cream outside.

By the time they were finished, Michael had chocolate ice cream all over his hands and face, and Emma spent five minutes trying to get it off with a wet paper towel. The family went home after and Michael took a bath while (Y/n) ordered a pizza, also ignoring Emma's protests. Michael had just won his first tee ball game, so of course they needed to celebrate.

When the pizza arrived, everyone ate their food quickly and they ended the day watching Beauty and the beast because Michael wanted to see his mum in one of her movies. They watched the movie with Michael cuddled into Emma, his head resting on her chest while her arms were wrapped around him, keeping him securely in his spot. He fell asleep halfway through, and Emma put him in bed, ending his day there.

The two parents went to bed shortly after, but not before Emma showed (Y/n) all the pictures of Michael she took. Once he was older, Michael was definitely going to be a pretty good baseball player.
