Michael had gotten a part time job at the local country club. He was a golf caddy to members of the club and sometimes he handed out towels by the pool. He used most of the money he earned to take Sadie out on dates or go out with friends. He ended up using less than half of it on himself most times. He made quite a lot as a caddy though, almost two hundred dollars a day from the people he caddied for. He would caddy for as many people as he could in a day.
Emma had made sure to get a membership to the club after Michael got a job there. (Y/n) and Charlotte usually were at the pool everyday having delicious smoothies and burgers. However Emma would be found wandering around the golf course to make sure Michael was safe. She didn't trust the old rich men that golfed here apparently.
Today Michael was caddying for the owner of the clubs son. He was a very nice and prestigious man, and he was set to inherit the club soon enough. "I'll tell you what kid, if you do a good job today lunch will be on me. We can grab a bite to eat after and I'll pay." The man, who's name was Bill, had proposed. "Alright. Thank you sir." Michael agreed and shook his hand.
Bill got his golf gear ready while Michael was turning on the golf cart. "Would you like to drive sir? I know some people like to drive their own golf carts. I just thought I would ask." Michael asked Bill, who shook his head. "You can drive, I trust you." Bill told him.
Once all of Bills golf clubs were in the cart he got in the spot next to Michael. He drove them to the first tee and got Bill's bags out and set them up.
While Michael was caddying for Bill everything had been going great. Until Bill noticed a golf cart following them from afar.
"Hey kid...I don't know how to tell you this, but there's a women with binoculars on that cart over there watching you?" Bill told Michael awkwardly. Michael looked over and saw his mum spying on him. "Er.. that's my mum. She gets a little nervous sometimes. I don't know why. She means well though. I'm pretty sure she got a membership just for this." Michael shared awkwardly. Bill looked confused for a second before pressing any further.
"Uh huh. I'm sure. Let's just keep going." Bill dismissed while Michael called Emma. "Mum? We can see you. I'm fine, you should go hang out with dad and Charlotte at the pool." Michael told her, and Bill watched Emma wave goodbye as she drove off towards the club building.
"Okay, are you ready to go find your ball?" Michael asked Bill, who nodded in response. Michael drove them near the hole and let Bill finish his game of golf.
After another hour of caddying for Bill, he had finished his holes. "Thanks kid. You did good today. I'll tell my friends that you're a good caddy." Bill complimented once they got back to the club. "Thank you sir." Michael thanked him while smiling. Bill handed him an a hundred dollar bill as a tip. "Thank you again sir." Michael told him.
"Now, I believe I promised you lunch?" Bill offered. "But you just tipped me. I can't accept lunch and a tip." Michael refused. Bill only shook his head and lead the teenager over to the club restaurant. "I insist. My treat." Bill continued while leading Michael to a table.
"Hi Michael!" Charlotte waved from the other side of the restaurant where she was picking up her and (Y/n)'s burgers. He waved back to her before she left and made her way back to the pool. "That's my sister." Michael explained to Bill who had a confused look on his face.
"Do you have any other siblings?" Bill asked. "No. Just her." Michael answered. "I think I've seen your father around too then. I usually see her by the pool with a man, always thought he was (Y/n) (L/n). I saw him in a few movies and the man she's always with looked a lot like him." Bill explained and Michael nodded. "Yeah, that's my dad, (Y/n) (L/n). My sister and my dad are pretty close. Just like how I'm close to my mum." He shared. "Your dad is (Y/n) (L/n)?" Bill asked and Michael nodded. "Yep. My full name is Michael Watson-(L/n)." Michael confirmed.
Soon enough a waiter came over to their table and took their ordered. "Two steaks please. Medium rare. With a side of truffle fries for each." Bill ordered for both him and the teenager across from him. Michaels eyes went wide but by the time he could protest the waiter was gone. "Do you do this with all of your caddies?" Michael asked in shock. "Nope. But I like you, you're better then the other caddies I've had. If you're up for it, I'd like to make you my full time caddy." Bill offered.
"What about when I have school?" Michael wondered. "I only golf on weekends. As long as you can be here on weekends it'll work. So what do you say?" Bill answered, offering his hand out. "I would love to, thank you sir." Michael accepted. "Please, call me Bill." He insisted. "Alright, thank you Bill." Michael smiled.
Later that night when Michael got home his family was setting up for dinner. "Michael! Who was that guy you were having lunch with?" Charlotte asked eagerly. "His names Bill. He's the owner of the clubs son. I'm his full time caddy now." Michael explained while helping his parents set the table. "Really?!" His family said together. "Yeah. He said he only golfs on weekends and if I was available I could caddy for him." He shared.
"That so cool! I'm proud of you!" (Y/n) exclaimed, giving his son a hug. Emma did the same before they all sat down for dinner. "And mum stalked us for half of the time." Michael brought up, recalling the memory of Emma spying on them from her golf cart she rented.
Everyone had a laugh over the story and they spent the rest of the night as a family watching movies and having ice cream.
