Over the quarantine, Emma started reading the news a lot more. Michael did his own thing most of the time and played his video games in his room.
"Michael, do you know what animal crossing is?" Emma asked, showing him the article. "Kind of. I don't play it if that's what you're asking." He told her, going back to eating his breakfast. "It looks fun! It's cute!" She raved, and Michael had an idea. He finished his breakfast and ran up to his room, going on the computer. He placed an order for animal crossing, and now he just waited for the game to come, all while not telling his mother about it. He was going to surprise her with it, and they could play together.
A few days later, the game arrived, and Michael ran to his mother's home office. "What's that?" she asked, seeing the package in his hand. "It's for you. I think you'll like it." He told her, handing the package to her. She opened it, revealing the game she had been talking about. "I figured that if you liked it and wanted to play it, we could do it together." He explained as she read over the instructions.
Suddenly Michael was engulfed in a tight hug, and he hugged back. "Thank you. Now, let's go. You have to teach me how to play." Emma told him, and they went up to his room. Michael sat down on his chair, Emma pulling up another chair next to his. He turned on the computer and put the game in, loading it up.
The next few hours were spent learning how to play Animal crossing, Emma's smile never leaving, only growing wider. (Y/n) entered the room, seeing the two playing the game. "What are you two doing?" He asked, sitting on Michael's bed. "Playing animal crossing." Michael told his father. "It's fun! Michael surprised me with it!" Emma shared, before going back to the game.
Eventually when it got late, Emma turned off the tv. "You've played enough video games today, go get ready for bed." She told him, and he nodded. "Did you like it?" He asked, changing his clothes. "Yeah! It's my favorite video game! Can we play it tomorrow?" She exclaimed, and he nodded in agreement.
To be fair, she didn't play too many video games, and she didn't like violent gun games. Animal crossing wasn't Michael's favorite, but if his mother liked it he would play with her, just to see her happy.
(I wrote this a long time ago and forgot about it but I decided to post it and share it with you all!)
