While Emma was out filming a new movie most of the day, that left (Y/n) and Michael by themselves.

They always had fun together, and most of the time went to the park and then watched tv later. Today it had been raining out for the majority of the day. It had been raining all week actually, meaning they were inside most of the time.

These past few months, Michael had liked Legos, more specifically Lego Ninjago. And since there happened to be a ten season Netflix show about the ninjas, (Y/n) and Michael had been watching it.

Currently they were nearly finishing the first season. Emma didn't know anything about the show since she was gone most of the day and when she got home he had watched enough tv and wasn't allowed to watch anymore for the day. All she knew was they were watching a tv show about Legos and ninjas.

Today Emma's scenes had gotten cancelled since they all were supposed to be outside and they couldn't film in the rain. So she had driven home in hopes of spending the rest of the day playing with Michael and just staying indoors. When she had arrived home Michael's eyes were glued to the tv and so were (Y/n)'s.

Currently in their show snakes were trying to take over the world and revive the overlord snake. They weren't scary since they were Lego snakes, but young children could be a bit afraid of it. Michael wasn't too afraid, he thought the snakes were funny. Emma walked over to see ninjas fighting a lot of snakes which wasn't what she was expecting.

When (Y/n) had told her they were watching Lego shows she thought they were watching documentaries about Legos. When Emma thought back on it why would they watch those anyway? Michael hadn't realized his mother was home yet still focused on the tv and the ninjas were not winning the battle currently. They were using swords and everything, not the most child friendly in her opinion.

"What is this? (Y/n) why are you letting him watch this? This is violent." Emma asked, Michael turning around to see his mother behind him. "Mummy! Mummy you're back! I missed you! You have to watch the show with us!" Michael exclaimed, rushing over to give her a hug. Emma bent down to his level and gave him a hug and kissed his cheek "Hi baby, I missed you too. What are you watching?" Emma greeted before he went back to his spot and pulling her hand to come with him.

"The snakes are fighting the ninjas, but there's more snakes than ninjas. And the ninjas don't have their special golden weapons." Michael told his mother while placing himself in her lap. Emma kissed her sons forehead before giving (Y/n) a look that meant 'we're going to talk later' and focusing back on her son who was explaining the show to her. "There's a blue ninja, a white ninja, a red ninja, and black ninja! There's a green ninja too! He's not the green ninja yet though. He has to come and save all the other ninjas from the snakes first." Michael explained with his eyes still on the tv. The snake leader was getting away at this point.

Once the episode had finished the next one started playing and they spent the rest of the day watching the Lego show, much to Emma's disapproval, but she hid it well. After Michael had gone to bed for the night Emma went into her and (Y/n)'s room, ready to yell at him.

"Why would you let him watch that show?" Emma asked, earning a shrug from (Y/n). "He loves it. He likes Legos, so I found it on Netflix and just put it on for him one day, and it's actually a pretty good show." (Y/n) told her. "It's a little violent isn't it? Snakes fighting ninjas?" Emma mentioned. "Well, no, not really. They don't show blood or anything. Nobody gets brutally murdered. It's Lego Em, it's meant for kids, he's a kid. Let him watch the show." (Y/n) pointed out with Emma sighing.

"Fine. If he likes it, that's all that matters I guess." Emma huffed, getting into bed. "Besides, if you're worried the snakes are going to scare him, don't bother. He thinks they're funny." (Y/n) mentioned, Emma putting her head on his shoulder. "Alright. He did seem to love the show and wanted me to watch it with you guys more often. So give me the full recap on what I've missed in the show so far." Emma told him, wanting to know what she missed so when her family watched it together she knew what was going on.

She'd do anything to make her son happy. She figured she could learn to approve of the show because it made Michael very happy and that's all she really wanted, for him to be happy. If letting him watch a show about Lego ninjas made him happy so be it. Emma would prioritize his happiness over hers any day. After that day Michael never watched the show without his mother there to watch it with him and his father, he wanted them to watch it together as a family and that's exactly what they did.
