Michael was at kindergarten and on the playground. He was playing with Ben and running around before he tripped on a rock sticking out of the ground.

"Michael! Are you okay?" His teacher asked as she helped him up and sat him on the bench. His teacher took him to the nurse while the rest of the class went back inside with another teacher.

"Call his father. Tell him that Michael has to go to the hospital and get this checked out." The nurse told his teacher while examining his ankle.

"Hello?" (Y/n) answered the phone once he saw it was Michael's school calling him. "Hello Mr. (L/n), it's Miss Kate, Michael's teacher. He had an incident at recess today and hurt his ankle. The nurse recommended he go to the hospital and get it checked out, but we need you to pick him up." Miss honey explained. "Yeah, I'll come get him right now." He responded and got his car keys. He was currently in a meeting, but this was more important. Once he picked up Michael and took him to the hospital he texted Emma telling her what happened.

Emma looked at her phone and saw the text, making something connect in her brain. Yes she was grieving over losing her child, but she still had another child who needed her. Emma hadn't spoken to Michael in two weeks, even though the boy constantly tried to make her feel better as best as he could. Emma realized that she was still Michael's mother and needed to step up again.

Emma got in the shower and freshened up before telling (Y/n) she was on her way. She drove to the hospital, got Michael's room number and walked into the room to see her son getting looked over by a doctor.

"Mummy!" Michael shouted, waving to her. Even though he was in pain, he hadn't seen his mother in what felt like forever and was just happy to see her.

"Hi Michael, are you alright?" Emma asked him, walking over and pressing kisses all over his face, making him giggle.

"He twisted his ankle. He just needs to not put pressure on it for six to eight weeks." The doctor told the two parents. Emma nodded and helped Michael up after the doctor had wrapped his foot and gave him a boot to wear that makes sure very little pressure goes on his foot.

Emma and Michael walked out of the hospital together with (Y/n) following behind, glad Michael had his mother back and glad Emma was able to start moving on. Yes they would always miss Charlotte, but she would always be their daughter and they would always love her just as much as they would if she was here right now.
