Convincing Gaile's parents is really a challenged for me... Hindi basta-basta. Kailangan ko pa talagang umipon ng lakas ng loob. Hindi madali.

Kilala ko sila Mrs. And Mr. Herrera simula pa noong bata pa ako... Syempre, bestfriend kasi kami ni Gaile. Kilala ko din ang parents niya... They're uneasy.

Nakakakaba hinggin ang kamay ni Gaile sa kanila... Unlike my parents, they already accepted me. All of me.

I'm thankful for that but on the other hand... Hindi ko pa kailangang makampante, kailangan ko din kasing suyuin ang parents ni Gaile. Which is... A little difficult for me, pero kakayanin.

"Aww, are you scared?" Niyakap ako ni Gaile mula sa likod. Hinalikan din niya ako sa pisngi. "Huwag kang kabahan. You should be confident na makukumbinsi mo sila mommy at Daddy, diba?"

"Hm, talaga?"

"Kasi hindi ako papayag na hindi mo makukumbinsi ang mga magulang ko, 'no." Pabiro niyang usal.

Natawa ako.

Humarap ako kay Gaile at niyakap siya sa bewang. I also gave her a small peck (of kiss) in the forehead.

"Gagawin ko lahat... para sa'yo." Natawa ako na may halong kaba.

Mabuti nalang nandito si Gaile, pinapalakas niya ang loob ko. Mabuti nga nandyan siya... kasi kung mas lalo lang niya akong papakabahin, baka maihi lang ako sa takot.

Nakaready na ang dinner. Nagluto si Gaile. Siya na ang bahala sa lahat. Habang ako, nag-aayos. Kung ano-anong mga speech ang sinasabi ko habang nasa harapan ng salamin.

"Ang tagal mo naman," naptingin ako sa pintuan. Nakasandal doon si Gaile habang nakapamewang.

She's wearing a simple blue dress and yet, she was so pretty!

Lumapit siya sakin. She gave me a back hug.

"Actually, nandyan na ang parents ko. Nag iintay na sila sa dining." Sabay halik sa pisngi ko. "Are you ready?"

Lumunok ako. "Kanina pa." Pero hindi talaga ako sure sa sinabi ko!

I nervously fixed my hair as I stood outside Gaile's parents' house. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the conversation ahead. Today was the day I would finally ask for their blessing to marry Gaile, the love of my life!

As the door opened, I greeted warmly Mr. and Mrs Herrera. Kilala ko na talaga ang parents ni Gaile. Pero mas gusto kong maging pormal ang paghingi ko ng kamay ni Gaile. I invited them inside, and as they sat down in the cozy living room, I  felt so much emotions!

"Thank you for having me over," Nex began, his voice steady but tinged with nervousness. "I've come to speak with you both about something very important."

Gaile's parents exchanged a glance, because of that, I was filled with anticipation.

"I love your daughter, Gaile, more than words can express," I continued, my gaze unwavering. "She is my best friend, my confidante, and the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."

Mrs. Herrera smiled warmly, her eyes shimmering with emotion. "We've always known how much you care for Gaile, Nex," she said gently. "She lights up whenever she's with you, and we can see how happy you make her."
