Everyone started cleaning up the gym as the sun has finally set down the horizon, leaving the sky a dark canvas peppered with early night stars.
“Yuki-chan, let’s go to the third gym!”
Aoyuki looked up from collecting the water bottles with Yachi when she heard Bokuto’s voice echo in the gym.
She saw him waving at her from the doors of the gym, immediately making a ‘come hither’ hand movements when his eyes connected with Aoyuki. Kuroo was smirking at her, one hand on his hips and quirked his eyebrow. Akaashi was beside Bokuto who’s still not stopping with the silly come hither movements, he flashed her his usual half smile.
Then to Aoyuki’s surprise, Tsukishima was already there, but looking like he didn’t want anything to do with the group.
“I’ll follow once I’m done here! You guys can go ahead!” Aoyuki called out to them. Bokuto pouted but stopped his come hither movements.
“Don’t you dare run away Ribbon-chan!” Kuroo called out past his shoulder as they all turned to walk out of the gym. Aoyuki rolled her eyes.
I never run away. Even though blocking and spiking is draining, Aoyuki never complained.
“You can go now, Aoyuki-chan. I can finish this.” Yachi offered her.
Aoyuki shook her head and bent down to pick a water bottle that fell on the ground, she then chucked it to the duffle bag where they put the water bottles. She then looked at Yachi and smiled, “Nah, they won’t die just because I’m not there.”
Yachi giggled at this. The two continued cleaning up in comfortable silence, that is until Hinata approached them, or Aoyuki, with wide eyes.
“Aoyuki-chan! Do you play with the ace from Fukurodani?” Hinata asked her, eyes wide with stars.
“Eh? I don’t really play with him, more like train.”
“Uooh! The ace from Fukurodani is training you! That’s so cool!” Hinata’s face brightened even more. “I’m so jealous!”
Aoyuki chuckled, before adding dryly. “You wouldn’t be jealous if you knew just how he can be.” She then continued, tilting her head at Hinata with a small smile. “I’d ask you to join us, but you’re training your new quick with Kageyama, aren’t you?”
“Mhm mhm!” Hinata bobbed his head up and down. He suddenly turned serious, looking down his hands. “I’m sorry, Aoyuki-chan.”
Aoyuki was taken aback looking at Yachi who only gave her a hesitant smile. Aoyuki looked back at Hinata and held his shoulder, “Woah there buddy, where’s this coming from?”
“Kageyama and I almost had a fight earlier even though we promised to never fight again.”
Aoyuki’s face lit up. Ah, so it’s about that, huh.
She patted his shoulder a few times, “Psh, I told you before that I won’t hold you to that promise, didn’t I?”
“But..!”
“Oh hush. Having you and Kageyama stop fighting is impossible. Plus, it would be really weird if the two of you isn’t fighting.” Aoyuki ruffled his fluffy orange hair.
Hinata stared at her, before looking down and nodding his head. Aoyuki might have told him that it was alright, but Hinata wouldn’t really know what to do if they hurt Aoyuki again amidst his and Kageyama’s squabble. He’s very aware that Aoyuki’s captain, Michimiya, will permanently pull out Aoyuki from them. He knew that it won’t only affect him, but also the rest of their team.
