(A/N: Hello, it is me. I decided to update since... it’s summer break already and I literally have no excuse why I can’t make another update, plus, I really missed this book ;-;. Anyways, thank you for the people who checked up on me even if you didn’t have too, I just want you to know that I freaking appreciate that. And also the fact that y’all aren’t THAT much pushy about me updating, that makes me happy y’know, it just shows that y’all are willing to wait without pressuring me to make an update. So, that’s all and let’s not make this already long note longer. I apologize if there are typographical errors, I haven’t proof read this one and just published it right after finishing lmfao. Oh wait, i also turned 19 last last week, so cheers :>
***The sound of cicadas buzzing filled the area, as well as chatters from the people as they continued on preparing for the barbecue party that the athletes very much deserved.
“Could you take this plate to Miyanoshita-san?” Karasuno’s third year manager, Kiyoko, suddenly stopped her junior, Hitoka Yachi, who was carrying plates on her arms.
“Sure, Shimizu-senpai!” The blonde manager answered enthusiastically, putting down the paper plates that she were carrying in exchange for one plate full of different flavored onigiris. Yachi took the plate in her hands and walked to another table near where Kiyoko was making the rice balls.
“Here are the onigiris!” Yachi chirped once arriving at the table, setting down the plate and watching the other managers.
Erin, the Ubugawa’s manager, sniffed and looked up the sky, abruptly stopping on chopping up the onions. “Waaah!”
Yukie and Kaori, the Fukurodani managers, can only chuckle at the adorable Ubugawa manager. Yukie then shifted her attention to the newly brought onigiris.
“Oh, rice balls!” Reaching a hand out to pluck one out of the batch, her hand was immediately swatted away by her co-manager, who tutted disapprovingly at her.
“Yukie! That’s for later, you absolute glutton.” Kaori shook her head, sighing. Yukie can only pout at this, Yachi rubbed the back of her head with a small smile.
Tsukishima Kei approached Akaashi who was standing all by himself and watching the things unfold in front of him.
“Apparently, Bokuto-san has his bad days.” He casually mentioned, the third year Fukurodani setter only side-eyed him as an acknowledgement of his presence.
Akaashi looked back at the scene in front of them, putting one hand on his hip as he answered. “Yeah. Well, he self-destructs at the most random times. But it doesn’t bug him if our enemy is strong, so we’re usually okay. When everyone on the team loses hope, he’s’ usually still pretty energetic. Despite everything, he’s pretty reliable.”
There was a brief silence between the two, as if both were mulling over the third year setter’s words. However, it was Akaashi who broke the silence.
“I’ve never seen him this down so much, though. I mean, after what happened to Aoyuki and all.”
“That was one hell of a spike she took.” Tsukishima mumbled to himself, but Akaashi heard him.
“Yeah, the fact that it was a powerful spike, and Bokuto-san was the one who did it, I guess it’s pretty much given that he will react that way.”
Tsukishima only nodded his head, not necessarily feeling like he needs to add something more to that and just leave it be.
They were just standing in a comfortable silence, when a loud voice boomed all throughout the open field...which is odd since it was an open field and yet the voice still echoed. It was just THAT loud.
