Obi-Wan's P.O.V.
"You seem a little on edge."
"Not at all."
Anakin mumbles to me on the elevator, making me glance to Vale. She's standing on one side of me while Anakin is on the other side. We've just come back from a mission on Ansion and assigned to protect Vale's old friend Padme.
Just as we landed on coruscant, we got a message from Yoda about the mission of protecting her. We've been on Ansion for almost two months now together. We came straight here once off the ship after receiving our next mission without meeting with anyone in the Jedi Order.
It's been a year and a half since leaving Spira. We've gotten used to our life travelling through space on missions and staying in the Jedi Temple. Everything is back to normal besides Vale's and my activities.
Vale seems pleased at this mission; she hasn't seen Padme since before our time on Spira. Though Anakin's nerves are all over the place. Turning back to look at Anakin, I tease, trying to getting him to relax.
"I haven't felt you this tense since we fell into that nest of Gundarks."
"You and V fell into that nightmare, Master." Anakin smirks, sending us a look. "And I rescued you, remember?"
"Oh... yes." I chuckle while nudging Vale, making her roll her eyes. Looking back at Anakin's expression, I see a thin layer of sweat and blurt out instantly. "You're sweating, relax. Take a deep breath."
"Be thankful I'm not constantly puking from my nerves, Master."
"Hey, I wasn't nervous. Ansion's food was nauseating."
Vale snaps back in record time while folding her arms. I see her blush from Anakin, calling her out about our last mission. We were on Ansion for two months and almost everything Vale ate, she puked up later.
I will admit their food differs from what we're used to and at some point we made her stop trying to eat new food and just eat plain soup. Anakin and I took turns in the bathroom with Vale's head in the toilet for two months. Sending Anakin an annoyed look, Vale asks him for trying to get the attention of her stomach problems.
"What's your excuse for your nerves right now?
"I haven't seen her in ten years, Master."
"It's Padme." Vale snorts from beside me and points out knowingly. "Odds are she hasn't changed at all."
"That's not why I'm nervous."
Anakin sends Vale an expression, making her raise an eyebrow. The elevator opens on the Senator's floor and the three of us walk through. The first to greet us is Qui-Gon and mine old Gungan friend.
"Obi? Obi! Mesa so smilen to seein yousa!" Jar-Jar comes up to us and shakes my hand. He turns to Vale and his eyes go big, saying. "Valera, Mesa hear great tinks of yousa from yousa father."
"Good to see you again, Jar-Jar."
I force a smile at his comment about Vale's father. It feels like Vale's father branding her title more and more with each day. Jar-Jar then leads us into the living room of the suits and we see Padme with someone on the balcony.
"Senator Padme, Mesa palos here!" Jar-Jar announces as we walk further into the room. "Lookie, lookie Senator. Desa Jedi arriven."
"It's a great pleasure to see you again, milady."
I speak up to her as she walks toward us with the man she was talking to. Padme's dressed like a Senator rather than a Queen, like how I met her. Smiling, Padme nods at me and shakes my hand, saying.
