Mace Windu's P.O.V.
"It's time, Valera."
I speak up softly when hearing the orchestra begin the music. Turning to Vale at my side, I see her staring at the tent flaps with a nervous gaze. Letting out a sigh from seeing her expression, I say to her encouraging.
"Just pretend this is like any other mission."
Vale nods to herself more than to me while taking in a deep breath. I know she's not worried about marrying Obi-Wan, though I sense she's on edge of marrying him in front of everyone. I would be too if I were the first in the Jedi Order to get publicly married.
This is all so new to the Jedi; everyone is nervous about it and because it's the first marriage allowed in the Jedi Order, it's so much more than just a wedding for Vale and Obi-Wan. It's a celebration of the change in the Jedi Order; nothing like this has ever happened before.
"Ready?" Lifting my arm for her, I smile genuinely and mumble in a lighthearted tone. Vale then whispers in a quivering breath before taking my arm. "Y- Yes."
Our eyes meet and we smile, excited but scared at the same time. Turning to face the tent's exit, I then lead Valera out and try to be the calm one for the both of us. I hear Vale's breath catch when we come out and she sees all the people in the streets.
We're near the Jedi Temple and people from all over the galaxy are packed in the streets. There's a path guarded by clones for us to walk from here to the podium. I feel Vale clinging onto my arm and I move us down the path as everyone around us watches.
Individuals from all over the galaxy are here to see Vale and Obi-Wan's wedding; people they've saved, people who they've met in their lives, and communities who purely want to see history in the making. This wedding is not only making history, but a symbol of peace in the galaxy.
"It's okay, Valera." I murmur to her assuringly. "We're almost there."
Leading us further down the aisle, I see the crowd staring at Vale in awe. Everyone standing in the streets is astonished at seeing the woman who changed the Jedi Order. They watch her as if she's a creature they've never seen before.
It becomes hard for me to breathe when it dawns on me I'm walking a former padawan down the aisle. It feels like just yesterday I was training her on Naboo and getting frustrated when she snuck off to do some silly antic. Holding onto her tighter than before, I try to stay relaxed for her sake.
Though, I can't get the picture of her as a little kid running around the Jedi halls and breaking vases along her way. I feel so honored and fortunate to have trained her, but at the same time paralyzed and worried about her like a father would. It's only when I feel her loosen her hand on my arm that I glance at her.
That's when I see a faint smile on her lips and her eyes staring at something in the distance. Looking at where her eyes are, I find Obi-Wan watching her with red eyes. Their expressions make my nerves settle down from seeing the utter love in their eyes for one another.
I would not dare give Valera away to anyone less than Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Padme's P.O.V.
I let out a whimper of a laugh as I see my childhood friend make her way down the aisle. Her smile is brighter than I've ever seen it as she walks with Master Windu. Standing beside Ahsoka, I glance at her and find her admiring Vale as she walks toward us.
Within the next second, Vale and Master Windu get to the part of the aisle that has seating for guests who were actually invited. The seats are for the members in the republic and the Jedi Order; plus Vale and Obi-Wan's unrelated friends. Jedi Knights, politicians, and Clones from Vale and Obi-Wan's squads are standing from their seats watching Vale.
