George watched over his pup fondly, as the boy took the ice cream cone that Sapnap bought him. The beta smiled when the boy thanked him and helped wipe off the melted glop that started to run to the boy's fingers.
"He may look like me, but he acts like you" Dream suddenly said from behind him, startling the omega.
"Fuc- Goodness Dream, could you not sneak up on me like that. My heart won't be able to take it." George stated as he placed a hand over his beating heart to calm down. He wasn't one to cuss, and he certainly wouldn't do it with Beckerson in hearing range.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," Dream said as he instinctively reached out to comfort his mate, but froze in his tracks when George flinched.
"Sorry..." the blonde said again, as he dropped his arms back to his side.
The pair looked at each other awkwardly, before George cleared his throat. "You should focus on Beck, the purpose of this outing was so that the both of you could spend time together after all..." he said, his eyes darted everywhere except towards the Alpha.
"Well, that's only part of the purpose of coming here. I also wanted you to have fun, and maybe we could try to slowly fix our issues." The blonde stated nonchalantly.
This time the brunette looked him straight in the eyes, "Nothing is going to happen between us Dream."
"Well, I'm still gonna try and change your mind," Dream said, shooting the brunette a confident smile, to which George rolled his eyes.
Suddenly Sapnap's voice cut through the peaceful atmosphere. "Beck!" the beta yelled.
The pair turned to see the boy slumped in the raven head's arms, and they quickly rushed towards the boy.
"Beck! Sweetie, can you hear me?" George asked in a panicked voice, as he took the boy in his arms.
"Papa," the boy sobbed out, "I'm sleepy...my body feels heavy."
"Sapnap, get the car!" Dream ordered and the beta quickly rushed off. The blonde then whipped out his phone and contacted the hospital to be ready for them.
George continued to hold onto his son, whispering words of comfort despite the worry that was surging through him.
"George we have to go," Dream stated gently, but with urgency.
The pair carried Beckerson to the car, and Sapnap quickly sped towards the hospital. The boy had his head on George's lap, who was gently running his hands through his son's hair.
"Honey you need to keep your eyes open for now," George stated, unconsciously releasing his distress pheromones that were greatly affecting Dream.
The blonde whimpered with the need to hold his mate, but he knew that this was not the time. He leaned over to hold onto Beck's tiny hand, then looked over at the omega to see if George was uncomfortable with it, but the brunette was much too focused on his pup.
"Beck, please stay awake, we are all most there," the Alpha said, and the boy gave him a weak nod.
Once they arrived, the staff placed the boy on a hospital bed and rushed him towards a certain room. George gripped onto one side of the bed as they moved along, with Dream on the other side. Both of them looked down with worry, at their son's rather pale complexion.
"Papa...I'm scared," the boy whimpered while reaching towards George.
The brunette quickly grasped his son's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze as they ran along.
"Don't worry honey, they'll do something to make you feel better," George stated holding back his tears.
Pain surged through the omega's body when they finally arrived at the room, and the staff had both him and Dream stay outside. The pain of being separated from his pup, mixed with the thought of losing his son, and the tears that he tried so hard to keep back, started to fall.
He hadn't cried in years, not since Beck was born. He needed to be strong for his boy, but now he felt like his whole world was crumbling, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
The omega felt his knees go weak and would have fallen to the ground if it wasn't for a pair of strong arms that caught him from behind.
He looked up to see a conflicted Dream, who was trying his best to not do anything that would make George uncomfortable, despite the overwhelming urge the alpha felt to hug his mate.
But the brunette was suffering so much that for the first time ever, he wanted the Alpha to hold him. To shield him from the pain and fear that he felt.
He slowly turned his body and wrapped his arms around the blonde's waist, before burying his face into the Alpha's chest.
The pair held each other in a tight embrace, with George's hands balling up the fabric of the blonde's shirt while he sobbed.
Dream leaned in to rest his face into the crook of George's neck, letting out a whimper when he inhaled the omega's now sour scent. He released his own scent, hoping that it would help the brunette calm down.
"I'm sorry George, I should have never considered taking him out," the alpha whispered, guilt evident in his voice.
When the omega stayed silent, Dream slowly moved them over to a nearby bench. Once seated, he lifted the brunette's head, only to see his mate's completely broken expression.
Seeing George like that was almost too much for the alpha to bear, so he quickly wiped the omega's tears, then placed the brunette's head on his shoulder.
With every sniffle and whimper that George made, Dream would tighten his hold a bit and shushed him gently. Whispering words of comfort, and trying to release his calming scent, despite also being worried about Beck.
He felt George inhale his scent deeply before the brunette's body relaxed. Greatly pleased by this, he pulled the omega a bit closer as they waited for any news about their son.
