You can always try
To break me and shatter me
Until nothingness lies in a tomb,
Until I will be silenced to quiet sleep.
Try me, test me, defy me,
I'll resist, I'll fight back, I will,
I won't make the same mistakes,
I won't let you in through my doors.
Your same disguise won't bewitch me,
Your wretched heart won't enchant me,
You cruel soul won't take me.
You've done it twice already.
I'd rather a cold summer than
A warm winter.
Don't make me feel warmth,
Don't make me feel happiness.
Warmth hypnotizes you into belief,
And belief tricks you to disbelief
That nothing was ever true
That we were all meant to bleed hurt.
Cold tells you cold is real,
Cold is less painful when you don't know warmth,
It stabs you immediately,
And you'll get accustomed to the pain.
Try me, try and give me the warmth,
I will refuse it like I once refused to hate you,
Like I refused to believe in betrayal
Like I refused to believe you would be my downfall.
Try
Your best.
Defy
And test.
You lie,
With zest.
You're dry,
I'm depressed.
Goodbye,
Don't protest.
Fly,
You confessed.
