Have you ever felt filled
With a feeling of ... accomplishment.
As if everything you'd ever hoped for
Was there, that you'd found a reason to live.
I once had.
Have you ever felt empty
With a feeling of ... bitterness.
As if every hope that had ever rose,
Was now scattered across your heart, hopeless.
I have.
Have you ever been surrounded
By souls who asked you that fatal question:
"Are you okay?" and that only was a reminder,
That you were not okay.
Have you ever been asked by kind hearts
That one question who was born
From the kindest, but ended in the worst for you:
Are you lonely?
They tell you they are here for you,
They take you in their arms,
With the kindness of every pure intention,
They tell you "don't worry, it's all right".
You're enclosed
In so much kindness and company
Yet, that one feeling of solitude
Still remains.
Surrounded,
Yet lonely.
With company,
Yet solitary.
I used to be surrounded and happy.
Then I was surrounded and isolated.
Now I am alone and lonely.
And it is perfectly fine to be broken.
