I wish I could take away this distance between us,

Always typing in these screens.

I wish I could reach for you,

And give you what your heart deserves and is bereft of.

I wish I could take this screen away,

I wish I could see you, know you, hug you.

I wish I could tell you all the kind things,

With my own voice reaching your own ears.

I wish I could give you the friendly love,

Instead of sending the virtual friendly love.

I wish I could tell you about this life,

Spill the words out in the open for you.

I wish I could hear your story,

And I wish I could tell you "it's okay I'm here".

I wish you could hear my story,

And I wish I could hear words of comfort in this reality.

I wish I could be that friend,

Always by your side and never letting go.

I wish I could hug you,

And then thank you.
