Dear You,
There was once a beautiful willow,
Standing on the ledge of a river,
It's sleeping branches weep,
Every day I pass by, I see your face.
Dear You,
There was once beautiful rose,
Dying on the borders of a lake,
It's rough petals darkening,
Every day I pass by, I see your face.
Dear you,
I'm facing you, challenging you.
Race you to our slumbering willow,
Race you to our dreamless rose,
Race you to the land where only nothing exists.
Dear you,
There once was a race called hell,
There once was a game called unfair,
There once was a nightmare called daydream.
There once was love.
I'll race you to a land with tears as rivers,
With still breaths as winds,
With silent words as rustling sounds,
With sweet balance as soil,
With ringing memories as history.
I'll race you to where we first met,
The willow will never wake,
The rose will never live,
Without our gift of
A second chance in love.
Memories will make history.
Balance will make soil.
Words will make sounds.
Breaths will make winds.
Tears will make rivers.
Race you,
Where life and death collide.
Race you,
Where hatred and love meet.
Race you, where names are unknown.
Race you,
Where light and darkness blur,
Race you,
Where happiness and despair brave lines.
Race you, where love can be a free secret.
Race you,
Where you can call me mine.
Race you,
Where I can call you mine.
Race you, when love doesn't come with chains.
Love,
You told me,
Don't walk.
Don't run.
Race.

A/N: This poem means a whole lot to me. These days I am looking for different. For a different feeling that races through you when you're reading. I don't know if this poem is hopeful or hopeless. I think it's both, and I think it depends on which angle you choose to look at it from.
Just like life.
Have you ever had a moment in yours where you just wondered if you could run away into a land where no one knows your name, where there isn't a care in the world, where you can forget? This feeling inspired me to write this poem. I imagined rivers, fields, willows, roses, grass, fresh winds, calm forests, and bright colours. A world where you can lie and stare at the sky for hours.
And sometimes, it isn't so bad just stepping into your own race, for just a while, taking in that moment to eclipse into a world where there's only you and happiness.
My favourite lines from this poem are "Memories will make history" and "Love can be a free secret". What are yours?
See you next time :)
