Dahyun has a rather low tolerance for alcohol. That is why in their outdoor gatherings, Dahyun always chooses to drink juice over alcohol, always left as the only sober one between eight tipsy members. The only time she drinks without concern is when she is drinking at the dorm with the members, since no one has the chance to see her absurdity that way.
Even when the members have lived together for so many years, they can still only show awkwardness when a question like "How does Dahyun behave being drunk?" is thrown at them in an interview. It causes them to suddenly switch to focusing on holding in their laughter and even Dahyun can't get herself to speak up about how she acts after a few drinks, because that one time...
It was their two-thousandth day since debut, a very special day, a time to celebrate and think back to their debut day and beyond. The nine of them have been through too much for the past five years, whether it is rumors or scandals, ups and downs, or watching their juniors slowly rising from their spot. There are simply too many memories that not even the nine of them can all remember, but every single day has been filled with more and more memories as their bonds grew closer.
After their celebration VLive in the company, they returned to their apartment and decided to spend the night together as they had no schedule the next day. Such nights are usually filled with pillows and blankets, wine, chit chats, and laughter.
Dahyun got drunk a bit too quickly after drinking more of the mixture of soju and beer than she should have. No one could have stopped her either, since they were merry and out of it as much as she was.
"Hirai!" Dahyun complained, hand still holding her cup of alcohol, most likely to spill at any moment. "Why do you never pay attention to me lately? You're always out with Nayeon unnie. I'm here too, you know!"
Some of the girls straight up ignored the drunk girl, but others worryingly looked towards Momo drooping on a chair. As usual, Momo was one of the most drunk, her eyelids constantly dropping down. It wasn't very clear if she was actually listening and comprehending Dahyun's words or not, but she was just watching the drunk girl sway left and right in her place as she continued talking.
"I have always liked you since our debut, though." Dahyun chuckled.
She gulped down the remaining liquid in her glass and threw herself back onto the couch. Well, she would've eventually fell anyway.
"But you're always treating me like a baby."
Nayeon appeared even more concerned than before as she glanced towards Jeongyeon and Jihyo, who both got up to do the job and grab Dahyun. They made Dahyun stand up from the couch by pulling her up on both sides, immediately receiving a groan from her.
"Why did you drink so much? It's time for you to go to bed and sleep," Jihyo said with a sigh.
It seemed like what Jihyo said went into Dahyun's right ear and flew out of the left one, since she proceeded with her love confession without any shame at all. Although her tone suddenly weakened, sounding like she is about to cry, she still didn't give up.
"I'm afraid that I'll never be able to say this if I don't right now, even if I am drunk. Unnie, you," she chuckled under her breath, "You literally have no idea how much I like—"
Jeongyeon and Jihyo exchanged one last look before dragging Dahyun out of the living room and towards her room in a hurry, random blabbering leaving the girl's mouth in the hallway. Normally it works on every member, but this time, Jeongyeon continuously telling Dahyun to shut up didn't help the situation.
The rest of the girls continued to stay in the living room, turning on some music on the side like nothing happened. After a few minutes, Momo threw her head back with a sigh and finally managed to say something even though it was just barely audible.
