Momo shuts the door to her bedroom and tries to calm herself down. She takes one deep breath after another as she throws herself onto the bed, trying to ignore the fact that she has just lost her temper at the members. Her arm is covering her eyes, unsuccessfully blocking out the shame she is feeling for treating her members poorly, when the bedroom door opens. She doesn't even need to look to know that it is Dahyun who has entered the room.
"Well, everyone is quiet now," Dahyun says with a chuckle, closing the door behind her.
Momo sighs deeply. "I'll go apologize in a bit."
Out of all the members, Momo is known to be the most sinister and unapproachable when she is annoyed about something or just having a bad day. Today, she went a little too overboard. When it got a bit too loud in the living room with everyone talking at the same time and a random video playing on the TV at too high of a volume, Momo couldn't hold back anymore.
"I don't know why I'm like this. I shouldn't have yelled at everyone." She is stressed and everyone knows that, but Momo doesn't want to make excuses for her behavior. It's a busy time and she is aware that everyone is stressed, not just her.
"Everyone will forgive you," Dahyun states simply. "We always have and always will."
Momo then feels Dahyun's gentle fingers intertwining with her own, fueling her regret over her behavior even more.
"You guys shouldn't forgive me. I need to learn to deal with my feelings better. Who cares if it's too loud? It's no reason for me to make everyone feel bad," Momo says with a weak voice.
Dahyun's holds her hand tighter. "Honey, it's not wrong to be annoyed by how loud it is. So don't worry about it, okay? We'll go apologize when you're ready. Just lie here for a while and relax first."
Momo smiles a bit with her eyes still covered by her arm. "You just want me to take my time so you don't have to join them and just sit there in silence."
A light giggle escapes Dahyun's lips. "Busted."
Momo can't help but laugh as well. There is no one who can cheer her up better than Dahyun. They have seen each other at their best, but more importantly, they have seen each other at their worst.
"Would you love me more if I was a better person?" Momo suddenly asks, still unable to meet the younger one's eyes despite having their hands intertwined.
There is a pause from Dahyun before she can answer. "If you were a different person, I wouldn't have fallen in love with you like this. I love you because you are you."
Without looking at Dahyun's expression, Momo can feel that her words are sincere. Their reward for supporting each other through difficult, uncertain, and ugly times is a love that is stronger than anything else in the world.
"Besides," Dahyun adds, "I don't think I could love you any more than I do right now."
Momo is quiet for a while, the squeeze she has on Dahyun's hand is the only indication that she has heard the younger one. Dahyun smiles, knowing that she has embarrassed Momo with her confession. And because Dahyun loves her so much, and perhaps to embarrass her further, Dahyun leans down and places a kiss on Momo's lips.
"No more talking about being a better person. Just be yourself, okay? I love you as you are," Dahyun murmurs.
Momo finally uncovers her eyes and pulls Dahyun down to her, hugging her. "I love you too."
Then, a few minutes later, Momo manages to apologize to everyone for her behavior. Everything turns back to normal when the girls grab her for a big group hug.
