Momo is tossing and turning in bed. Every time she shuts her eyes, she visions Dahyun's back, from shoulders all the way down, reddened. I did that to her. She tries to get the image out of her mind, but it is no use. She eventually gives up and instead, thinks about how she can make it up to the younger one.
They had an unfortunate argument just hours before, which has left Momo with tremendous guilt and Dahyun with a painful wound. They were in Dahyun's room together, just getting ready for bed when Dahyun asked Momo about something she had been curious about. There was nothing to argue about and Momo calmly wanted to clear things up, but since she's not good at explaining her feelings, everything suddenly went wrong.
Due to Momo's poor choice of words, Dahyun took the story out of context and understood something that hurt her, causing the scene to become frantic. Without letting Momo continue, Dahyun started changing out of her pajamas to go outside and get some fresh air as an attempt to release her anger.
But before she could get a shirt over her head, she suddenly felt a sharp pain from the top left of her shoulders down to her waist. It felt like a burn, like a flaming sword stabbing and poking down her back. The only difference is that it was not a sword, instead, Momo's nails that were filled with sudden anger. Unable to explain herself, unable to contain herself, Momo let her anger control her in the heat of the moment, which shocked herself too.
Dahyun was stunned, she was filled with pain and disappointment. She acted calm, but her irritation was clear as she sent Momo out of the room, Momo's eyes brimming with tears. The older one slept on the couch for the first time, or rather, cried herself to sleep.
Now, Momo finds herself creeping to Dahyun's room, the dark hallways silent except for the sound of her heart beat thumping in her chest. When she gets to Dahyun's room, she cautiously opens the door to find Dahyun sleeping peacefully. Momo stands by the door for a while, watching the girl sleep, her palms all sweaty. She spots Dahyun's eyes flutter a bit before they eventually open.
"Oh," Dahyun sits up slowly, rubbing her eyes, "What are you doing up so late?"
Momo stands silently, picking at her arm. Before she can realize, thick tears start to flow from her eyes. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry. I should have controlled myself."
Dahyun sits up a little more as she silently watches the girl sob. She can feel the stinging of the wound while sitting up, but she is able to endure it for now. She then gets out of bed to pull Momo into an embrace. She feels Momo shake as she sobs into her shoulder, leaving tear marks. Dahyun leads them to the bed and pats the spot beside her, letting Momo hop up and scurry under the blankets.
"I know that you're gonna say that it's not my fault, but I hurt you! I could have," Momo swallows the lump in her throat, "I could've hurt you even worse!"
Dahyun is silent and just caresses the girl's back. She doesn't know exactly how to react because she knows that Momo has been struggling at dealing with her feelings for a long time, but at the same time, she knows that such severe events shouldn't be happening.
"That's why I want to make things up to you," Momo mumbles as she wipes her tears.
"You don't have to make anything up to me," Dahyun says, her voice calm, but her hands shaking. She smiles at Momo, her eyes filled with a hint of sadness, but her smile still bright as always.
Momo pauses for a bit. "Can I see it?"
Dahyun straightens her back a bit from the sudden question. "Are you sure? I mean, you can see it, but I don't think it looks very good."
Although, Dahyun knows Momo means what she said by the way the older one is looking at her, so Dahyun removes her shirt, revealing herself only in a bra. Then, she turns around to reveal an almost dried up wound on her back.
