Seth lay on Dean's bed on his back, holding one of the pillows close, he had stopped crying 10 minutes ago. He couldn't believe that Damien was gone now too, both of his brothers were dead, and he was all alone. How did he even die? They were supposed to be safe and protected being with the damn Council. The only explanation he could come up with was that that bastard Cecil had somehow gotten close enough to him and he was the one who took Roman from him. How had he been able to get close enough to do it though? Seth ran his hands over his face, as he tried to figure out a way to get Dean and Roman away from Cecil. That was easier said than done though, if Angels couldn't freaking do it, then how the hell was he going to? Needing some fresh air, he got off of the bed and left the room, shutting the door behind him.
He then wandered around the empty Council building, until he found the back door. He went outside and walked around the beautiful, quiet garden that surrounded the entire building. Finally, he found himself in the very center of the garden, and sighing heavily, he sat down on the bench. His heart ached and he began to cry silently, suddenly, he heard a noise and looked up to see an Angel he had never met before standing there.
"Are...are you alright?" She asked timidly.
"No offense, but I'd like to be alone." Seth said bitterly, as he wiped his tears away.
"Seth, may I sit with you?" She asked gently.
"Who are you and how do you know my name?" Seth demanded angrily, as he stood.
"I come only in peace." She said. "I'm a friend, my name's Mia."
"Okay, you answered one of my questions, now answer the other one." Seth demanded.
"I work in the Council building, I'm a Guardian Angel in training, and I heard about your brothers, I'm truly sorry for your loss."
"Save your pity, I don't want it." Seth said angrily.
"It's not pity when you're genuinely sorry." Mia replied calmly.
"Why are you here?" Seth asked sighing, too tired to argue.
"Well, I saw you come out here and I thought you could use a friend. Or, maybe someone to vent to." She said softly, as she sat down across from him, he sat back down too.
"It wouldn't matter if I said no, would it" Seth questioned sighing.
"No, I'm very persistent." Mia answered smiling. "I'm a good listener and I have very tough skin, so what you say won't hurt my feelings...well, not very much."
"No disrespect, but I don't really have a lot of trust in Angels right now."
"None taken, I understand, and honestly...neither do I." Mia admitted quietly, as she looked at the ground.
"Wait, what?" Seth asked confused. "Is...is that even possible?"
"Yes, Seth." Mia replied smiling. "Humans can lose faith in other humans, can't they?" She reminded him.
"Right." Seth said, feeling stupid.
"I have loved being an Angel, don't get me wrong, but after witnessing what you, Roman, and Dean have gone through it's made me lose faith in my kind. I have witnessed the Council's blatant misuse of their power in the situation with Cecil and how they handled the Outcasts with no concern for anyone, as long as their will was imposed. I can't take back the damage they caused, but I can apologize at least, I know it's not much, but it's something all of you deserve and have never gotten. I'm also here to remind you that despite the Council, there are good Angels who want to help and that you can trust; Xavier, Ava, Zachariah, and...myself."
