Valentina POV

"Hey! I'm so glad you could make it!" My friend Kim ran over to my car as I pulled up her driveway.

I had met Kim when I started going to the Women's Center a few months ago and we kept bumping into each other. She was doing part of her community service volunteering at a clothes drive I went to since she was currently on probation. And then we met again when I was leaving counseling, started talking, and discovered that we have a lot in common.  We bonded when Kim told me that she was a single mother of daughters also and she understands the struggle. We've hung out a few times before, but this was the first time I was invited over to her house amongst her friends for a Scentsy party. It was the perfect opportunity for me to wear a bit of makeup and look nice for a change.

"Of course! Thanks for inviting us! Let me just grab my stuff. I made guacamole!" I giggled as I gathered my belongings before getting out of the car.

I was a tad nervous because I didn't go out much or have many girlfriends; my life mostly revolved around my children. Also, Kim lives in a huge house and has been able to give her kids a wonderful life. I can only dream of a life like that for my little girls someday. It's because Kim's ex-husband is Eminem. My ex and I had seen him in concert once. My ex-husband isn't nearly as successful as Kim's. Jarred would have never allowed me to go out to anything like this and he wouldn't have approved of the smoky shadow clouding my eyes or the light bronze color on my lips. That's one of the many reasons he's my ex. But I'm not thinking about him tonight!

I was very familiar with Eminem's music. It helped me gain the courage to leave my abusive marriage. Ironically enough, I had packed my bags to leave last year as I was listening to No Love to help me get through it.

I got out of the car and handed the bowl of guac to Kim, then grabbed a bag of Tostitos, my purse, the diaper bag, my one-year-old daughter in her car seat, and my eight-year-old daughters' hand.

"Here, let me help you." I startled when I heard a male voice and darted around to see who it belonged to.

Eminem, Marshall Mathers was standing right there about ten feet away from me then started walking toward me. He had a beard now. I had seen it online, but it was a grand sight to see it real and in the flesh. I felt like I was floating.

"Oh, it's, it's ok. I'm used to it really." I don't know why I said that to him, but I said it.

"Nah, don't be crazy sweetheart. I gotchu." Marshall grabbed the diaper bag and purse from my one arm and the bag of chips from underneath the other.

He walked me to Kim's front door and set my things in the entryway. When he stood up, our eyes met and my mouth was so dry, I could barely move my lips to form the words, "thank you."

Marshall POV

"Nah, I'm not coming in to look at the dishwasher for you Kim, I already ran all the way the fuck over here to give Whitney her laptop because you're too busy having some dumbass party! I got a flight to catch tonight. I'll call somebody tomorrow while I'm on the plane to come over and fix it."

I hopped back in the Escalade to leave before any of Kim's whore friends saw me at her house. They're all a bunch of annoying barflies, my ex is not friends with any respectable women. Just as I was pulling out, an old Subaru Outback pulled in behind me to block me from leaving. "Fuck me." I mumbled under my breath.

Kim excitedly ran down the driveway shouting, "Val! You made it!"

I jumped right back out of my car to tell whoever it was that they had to back the fuck up out of the way to let me leave, but the woman who got out of the car was able to make time stand still. She was fucking beautiful! She was younger, about in her late twenties. Her hair was dark, thick, and long, surrounding her tan face. She was sexy as hell! She started grabbing a bunch of shit out of her backseat including two cute little girls. I was surprised that she was a mom.

When her eyes hit mine, I swear my heart skipped a beat.

"Here, let me help you." Our eyes met as I walked over to her.

"Oh, it's, it's ok. I'm used to it really." The beautiful creature told me.

"Nah, don't be crazy sweetheart. I gotchu."

I helped this cute girl, whose name is apparently Val, to the door and she seemed so shy or nervous or both that she could barely whisper "thank you". It was fucking adorable! She entered the home, and I closed the door to slowly walk back over to Kim still standing in the driveway.

"Is she a friend of yours?" I asked Kim when we were alone outside again.

Kim pessimistically rolled her eyes, "Don't get any ideas Marshall. She's not your type. She has kids and responsibilities." Her voice trailed off. "We met at the Women's Center."

"I just asked if she was your friend, damn." I stood there silent for a moment with my hands in my pockets. "So, you still want me to take a look at that dishwasher?"

"Oh my god Marshall." Kim shook her head and skeptically invited me in the house.

Inside the home were Kim's little girlfriends. They all talked loudly and giggled and begged to be the center of attention, scandalous little sluts that they were. But not Val. She just sat quietly in the corner with a small smile plastered on her gorgeous lips.

There were candles for sale on a table and one of the busty blonds was doing her presentation about how Scentsy candles were the best and you should buy shit from her. Blah, blah, blah

I walked straight over to Val, "I don't think we were introduced properly, I'm Marshall." I extended my hand just to be able to touch her.

"Valentina."

"Nice to meet you, Valentina."

I loved her name right off the bat. It looked good on her.

"You as well, Marshall."

She was so pretty and

innocent. I couldn't help but smile back as I tried not to undress her with my eyes.

I found my way out to the kitchen where Kim was waiting to show me what was wrong with the dishwasher.

"So, she's nice." I said as I bent down to fuck with the knobs. "Real nice."

"Val's great. She gives me a little sister vibe. We've hung out a couple times, so I invited her tonight. Laney's watching her kids downstairs during the party so she can get a break. Val's focus in life is those two little girls and she's doing it all alone."

"There's not a dad around?"

"Marshall! I don't want to tell you all her business."

"Alright, alright." I continued fucking with the dishwasher for a minute. "But she's single, right?"

"Yes. She's going through a divorce." Kim said quietly as so others wouldn't hear us talking about her friend.

"A divorce?" I smirked and looked up at Kim. "Whatta shame."

"No, Marshall. Valentina is a great person, but she's still in the middle of this and," Kim thought for a moment, "she really has a lot on her plate right now. I don't think she's what you're looking for honestly. Val has more self-respect than that."

"Psht, what the fuck is that shit supposed to mean?" I asked and got up to turn on the dishwasher. "There, it's fixed." (It was obviously still broken as shit.)

I stared Kim down for a second, then walked back to the living room where Valentina was.

"Val?" I called loudly into the room and all the other women became quiet as I asked, "I'm sorry, but you have me parked in. Could you come outside with me for a minute to move your car?"
