Valentina POV
I must have missed the memo that I was supposed to show more skin when you hang out with a bunch of people at a recording studio on a Friday night. After I dropped my daughters off at Hailie's place, I drove over to Heaven to meet Marshall. Once again, I walked the halls of the studio which were framed with plaques and inspirational quotes. There was a kitchen, gym apparatus, and a game room. All the equipment and instruments looked to be state of the art.
Porter was there, and I got to meet Royce and some of the other guys in the business. Marshall introduced me to Alex da Kid and said he was a brilliant producer. I'd heard of him before. I wasn't sure who the other people were, but I could tell they were important. I tried to keep a smile on my lips and not be socially awkward.
The wives and girlfriends were sitting around on couches wearing short skirts and lowcut tops. They had their nails done, carried luxury bags, and wore heels. I was just wearing jeans and a white t-shirt with a cool top that I found at a thrift shop thrown over top of it. I even had boots and purse to match, but I still felt out of place. Royce's wife and her friend seemed nice, so I hung out with them for a while Marshall was busy with the guys.
When Marshall came back over to me and took my hand, I felt so many hard stares on me. I wanted everyone to like me. I was always so self-conscience.
After meeting the twenty or so people hanging out there that night, I felt dizzy in the head. I felt like everyone has an idea of what Eminem's girlfriend should look like and I didn't measure up. Marshall had a lot of important friends. I tried to take easy breaths and not be concerned with what anyone was thinking of me.
"C'mere baby. Sit with me." Marshall pulled me down with him on the couch into his lap and laid back with me in his arms.
I couldn't believe that he was this carefree with our relationship in front of all those people.
"You look beautiful tonight." He lightly said in my ear.
I smiled as I looked in his hypnotizing blue eyes, and placed my hand to his chest, "You always say that."
"That's cuz you always do."
I loved his little accent. And he leaned in for a quick kiss that made my heart flutter.
"Look at chu all booed up." Royce grinned as he came to fetch Marshall. "Yo, man we need you."
"Aight."
Marshall kissed my cheek and told me he'd be right back, then went in the other room to talk to the guys for a little, and I was left by myself. I was a bit uneasy without him by my side. I was even more uneasy when one of the guys I didn't know came to approach me and collapsed down too close for comfort next to me on the couch. He was far too forward for my taste and stank of alcohol. I sat up straight and crossed my legs away from him to put some space between us.
"How long you known Marshall?"
"I don't know. A couple weeks?" I shrugged.
"A couple weeks." He laughed. "When you're done with him tonight, you give me a call. I'm Noel."
The creep reached his hand out to shake mine and I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I'm with Marshall." I meekly told him.
He continued talking, "Not for long. I know the kind of bitches Marshall fucks with. I got a place in Malibu if you're into that type of thing." He reached out to grab my face and I rapidly jumped up as my mouth went dry.
"Hey! Val you aight over there?" Royce yelled as he popped his head out of the studio.
"No!" I got up and swiftly fleeted over to the opposite side of the area by the doorway.
Royce rumbled across the huge room to get in Noel's face, "Yo, get the fuck away from her! She's Marshall's girl."
"I was just talking to her man." Noel shrugged nonchalantly.
Marshall appeared at the doorway when he heard the commotion with Royce and made eye contact with me visibly shaking with fear across the room at the testosterone in the air.
"You don't need to be fucking talking to her! You know exactly who the fuck she's with!" Marshall hollered forcefully in Noel's direction.
"Marshall, quit being such a bitch." Noel's drunk disgusting body rose from the couch.
That set Marshall off as he charged towards Noel and struck him right in the jaw. All these other guys had to rush in to hold him back and a chair got broken in the uproar. I had never seen such a look of rage in his eyes.
I couldn't watch anymore. I had to grab my shit, and RUN!
Marshall POV
"I never liked your goofy ass anyway. Who the fuck invited you? Was it you? Was it you? You?" I asked all my boys, and they all shook their head "no" in agreeance that nobody wanted Noel there. He was a decent producer, but he was always a problem. "That means nobody wants you here! You need to get the fuck out!"
Someone gave the dumbass a ride home as he was too drunk to even drive. I looked all around and realized Valentina was missing.
"Val?!"
I looked down at my knuckles surprised that it didn't break the skin.
"I think she went out to the parking lot for some air." Royce pointed as he answered me.
I ran out to the parking lot to discover Val's car was gone. I tried calling her three times over and over to no avail.
"Shit!" I yelled in the night air. "Fuck!"
I jumped when my phone started ringing, only to discover it wasn't Valentina. It was my daughter Hailie.
When Hailie spoke, she seemed befuddled, "Dad, what's going on?"
"Hailie, is Val with you?!" I was urgent.
"She just picked up the girls, she was shaken up though. I had her promise me she was calm enough to drive."
"You shouldn't have let her go!" I started searching for my keys in frustration. "Whatever, I'm heading over to Val's place."
"Please don't scare her! She said she doesn't like yelling, so I assume the two of you are fighting. She is very upset."
"Nah, it wasn't even me, it was this other dude. He was hitting on her. I had to give him the business."
"So, you hit somebody right in front of her?!" I could tell Hailie thought I was the fuck up.
"It was to defend Val! Look, I'll talk to you later honey. I gotta get ahold of her."
I hung up with Hailie and tried calling Valentina once more only for her to ignore my call once again.
