Valentina POV
I got excited when Marshall came back into the living room, "Val? I'm sorry, but you have me parked in. Could you come outside with me for a minute to move your car?"
I didn't know if it would cause tension amongst Kim's other friends attending the party that night or even if it would create bad blood between Kim and myself. But what I do know is that when Marshall Mathers asks you to come outside with him alone... you go!
I felt so plain compared to the dozen or so other women in the room who were friends of Kim. I didn't measure up. They had perfect hair and perfect bodies. Their personalities were bold and vibrant. I just sat in the back and blended into the scenery, or so I thought, but I could swear Marshall was staring at me way more than he looked at anyone else. Scratch that, he wasn't looking at any other woman in the room whatsoever! Only me.
I could feel everyone's eyes on me and was more embarrassed by the attention from Marshall than flattered. All the other girls had tried to giggle and say hi to him earlier, but he gave them one-word answers. I was the only one that he came over to ask my name and shake my hand.
I thought of my ex for a second and how jealous he would be if he knew I were in the company of another man at all. The power of mind control still plays tricks on me because I knew I was doing absolutely nothing wrong by talking to Marshall. I was simply moving my car for a really cute guy. A really cute guy who happened to be Eminem. Jarred would have accused me of being a cheating slut if I even looked another man in the face while I was married to him.
I got up from the couch to grab my keys and put my coat on and my legs felt wobbly as I walked across the room toward Marshall. He waited for me to get uncomfortably close to him before we exited the front door together and all the ladies in the room gawked in complete silence at our departure. I had to concentrate just to breath, as the energy I felt from Marshall's body being a mere two or three feet away from my own made me dizzy. I just hoped I didn't throw up.
Once we were outside some of the pressure subsided when he turned to me and snickered, "So are you enjoying Kim's Candlelight party?"
His smile was so cute, my insides turned to moosh.
"Yes, it was so nice of her to invite me."
Marshall POV
I went back in the living room to talk to Val. All the other hoes around couldn't hold a candle (no pun intended) to this girl. She stuck out. No one else's hair shined as hers or had her perfect sweet smile on her luscious lips. She was quiet and warm. I don't know what it was about her, but I knew I wanted to make her smile more.
"Val?" I called from across the room and noticed the room had an awkward silence, "I'm sorry, but you have me parked in. Could you come outside with me for a minute to move your car?"
I watched her every move as she rose from the couch to grab her purse and jacket then lead us outside to the driveway. I had visions of throwing her up against the side of the house and sticking my tongue down her throat, but I could already tell she wasn't the type. I was going to have to make conversation and put my time in with this girl.
I gave a little laugh to make her feel more comfortable around me, "So, are you enjoying Kim's Candlelight party?"
It was lame, but I was trying to make small talk with Val. When I watched her facial expressions as she talked, her eyes twinkled when she smiled, and I liked her even more.
"Yes, it was nice of Kim to invite me." Valentina said behind those amazing light hazel eyes as I stepped closer.
"You know I just wanted an excuse to talk to you alone, right?"
"Alone?" Her voice took a higher nervous tone.
"Yeah, I wanted to see you more closely." My eyes met hers as I moved in closer still. We were a mere few inches away from each other and I reached out to stroke her arm. "Your daughters are gorgeous by the way. They look just like you."
"Thank you, Marshall." Val answered as she closed her eyes and drew a heavy breath in. "Well, you looked at me. Now, let me go move my car."
I watched her walk across the driveway. Ever since I laid eyes on Val, I couldn't stop staring at her. Just the way she moved alone could put me in a trance.
I thought about asking her to stop by the crib later that night before my flight left, or any night. I guarantee you, almost any one of those whores inside Kim's crib would have fucked me right there in the driveway in the backseat of my Escalade, but not this girl. This girl barely gave me the time of day which made me want her even more.
I ran down the driveway and motioned for Valentina to roll down her window, "Just pull it over here. I want to say goodbye to Laney and Whitney before I leave." I had already said bye to Hailie earlier in the day. I technically had already said goodbye to my other two daughters as well, but Val didn't know that. It gave me an excuse to be in the same vicinity as her for even longer.
We both walked back inside Kim's house trying our best not to stare at each other as we did. I made my way downstairs to the basement where Laney was babysitting Val's kids while Val stayed upstairs to join Kim in preparing the party foods in the kitchen.
As I slowly descended the stairs, I heard the voice of my nosy-ass ex-wife, "Oh, he's still here. So, is he being fucking respectful?"
