Marshall POV

Valentina looked amazing at the barbeque walking around in her little sundress that I knew she was wearing a thong under because I checked earlier. She proudly wore the earrings I had given her to celebrate one week of living together. Val shrieked with happiness when I gave them to her, and I think I fell in love with her all over again. Valentina is the sweetest thing. Throughout the day, I would look over at her and she was so beautiful, I couldn't believe she was my girl.

Royce and his wife got to meet Val again. His kids and our two little ones played together all day in the pool. Paul was even in town and brought Alison along so they both got to visit with Val and know her better. Val seemed to hit it off with Alison straight away. I was glad she could gain a respectable girlfriend.

Last thing I knew, Val was in the pool while I was on the other side of the patio at a table talking to Bizarre and when I looked over again, she was gone. I thought she just went in the house for something and didn't think anything of it until Hailie and Stevie came over to tell me that Kim was drunk in my front yard. That was just like her to come over to shit on a good time.

I rushed out front to the driveway before the bitch made a scene. I came up just in time to hear her talking some shit to Val.

"Too bad you live here now or I'd just hookup with Marshall tonight. That's been known to happen ya know?" Kim was obviously drunk.

"Kim, what the fuck are you doing here? Nobody invited you." I used my arm to protect Valentina and shield her from a drunken Kim.

"I just came to see my buddy old pal. Are you and your kids having a nice time here in Marshall's pool? It's so obvious you became friends with me just to get to my ex-husband." She rolled her eyes.

I scowled in disgust. I can't believe I used to be married to this woman, "Kim, you're just jealous of Valentina. She's everything you're not."

"Fuck you!" Kim snarled.

"Marshall!" Val grabbed my arm and shook her head to stop me from saying anything else.

"Get the fuck out of here Kim!"

Porter's girl offered to give Kim a ride home and I put my arm around Valentina to rejoin the party.

Valentina seemed weirded out. I was used to Kim acting up, I'd seen it a million times, but that was the first time Val has ever witnessed Kim actin a fool. She went over to a chair where Alison and Ashley were sitting while I took my daughters aside to suggest they sleep here tonight. It was disappointing that Kim had fallen off the wagon again.

"Mom isn't feeling well, I think you should stay out of her way for the night."

Alaina asked straight away, "Has she been drinking?"

"I don't know, but I didn't let her drive. Honey, we'll talk about it tomorrow. I just wanna have fun tonight."

I refuse to let that bitch fuck with my life anymore. She's supposed to fucking be Val's mentor and she's all drunk.

I walked over to Val sitting with the other wives to make sure she wasn't too shaken up, "Hey ladies. Baby, come over here."

Val looked at them before coming with me. Something was off with her; I could sense it.

She spoke softly, "Marshall, can we go somewhere to talk?"

I tried not to roll my eyes as I sensed this was going no place good, "Sure babe."

I led her on a brief walk to the pool house where we were distanced from the party, it was virtually silent.

"What's up?"
