Forty-Six: Mrs. del Rosario

[Three days later.]

"OMG! You look sooo gorgeous!" ang exaggerated na wika ni Francine pagkakita sa akin.

Nandito kami sa hotel kung saan gaganapin ang birthday party ng lola nila. We're here at the suite room Francine got for the both of us. Dito kami nag-stay habang inaayusan. She hired a team of professionals to do our hair and makeup.

"Oh, gosh! You look dashing, mygawd!" anito.

Francine couldn't stop gushing about how I look the moment she saw me all made up.

I am wearing a simple nude-colored gown. It's off-shoulders kaya exposed ang balikat at upper arms ko. Medyo lowcut sa may bandang likod pero 'di naman talaga backless.

It has minimal embroidered details which gives it a feminine touch. May mahaba din itong slit sa isang side kaya nai-expose ang legs ko nang bahagya kapag naglalakad.

It was Fancine who picked this up. Ayoko sana noong una kasi parang it's too sexy for me. Hindi naman kasi ako sanay magsuot ng sexy.

But Francine insisted. Bagay daw sa akin at saka hindi naman daw ganun ka-revealing.

And looking at my own reflection in the full-length mirror right now, I'm glad that I went with this. Bumagay nga naman sa akin.

I love how they do my no-make-up look, too. Parang napaka-natural lang.

Even my hair, which was tied in a princess bun adorned with some elegant accessories, looked sophisticated. The hanging curls gave my overall look a touch of femininity.

I so love my overall look. Sana magustuhan din ni Louie.

"I wonder how Louie will react if he sees you later. He might lock you up in one of the rooms here," ang pilyang wika ni Francine.

Kaagad na nag-init ang magkabila kong pisngi sa tinuran nito.

"It's really cute how you always blush like a virgin bride whenever I tease you." At humagalpak pa nga ito ng tawa.

Gagi, virgin pa naman talaga ako!

But I can't tell her that, of course! That would be hilarious.

Una, kasal ako sa pinsan n'ya. At pangalawa, she wouldn't believe me, not after she caught Louie and I in the music room.

"You're crazy," ang natatawa kong wika dito.

"Tagal n'yo ring 'di nagkita, miss na miss ka na nun! Baka 'di ka patulogin mamayang gabi." At tuloy ang pangungulit nito.

Tawa lang din ako nang tawa.

But yes, it has been like four days already since I last saw Louie. Kahapon lang kasi na-discharge sa ospital ang lola nito kaya 'di ito makauwi-uwi ng hotel. Lagi daw itong hinahanap ng lola nito.

Saka ang sabi, may kailangan din silang pag-usapang buong pamilya.

Pero lagi naman ito tumatawag kapag may time. Parang mas nakakausap ko pa nga ito sa phone ngayon kumpara noong nasa China pa kami.

"Are you okay? Is Francine taking good care of you?" ang sabi nito noong nakausap ko sa phone kagabi.

"Yup, I'm fine. Don't worry about me," sabi ko. "Saka, you didn't have to ask Francine to take care of me. Kaya ko naman sarili ko."

"I know. Pero mas mapapanatag ako kung alam kong may kasama ka," he said.

And I find it really sweet.

"I miss you," he said out of the blue.

Natameme ako. I didn't know how to respond. It was the very first time that he told me that he missed me.
