[the next day]

"What the hell is wrong with you?" ang malakas na wika ni Alexandria sa akin. "Why aren't you friggin' taking care of yourself?"

We were at my hotel room, I was lying on my bed while she was standing right in front of me, basically glowering down at me. Sounding very much like a nagging mom.

"I'm fine, Alex. You shouldn't have come. I'm so sorry for bothering you," I said, feeling a little guilty that she had to come here.

"Anong I'm fine? Gurl, you passed out! The housekeeping staff found you sprawled out on the floor, totally unconscious! How is that okay?" ang pagalit nito sa akin.

Day by day, Alexandria is sounding more like Louie. Demanding and sometimes annoying. But I can sense a soft personality beyond that strong facade. Hindi lang pala magkapangalan 'tong dalawang 'to. Magkaugali pa.

"I was just… uhmm, tired," I said.

The staff called Alexandria when they found me unconscious on the floor. The second option is not impossible.

"Plus the hotel's medical staff already checked me. Said I'm fine," ang sabi ko pa. "You don't have to worry about me, really."

"Hulaan ko, hindi ka nag-dinner kagabi," anito, raising an eyebrow.

"We had a late lunch, remember? Hindi ako nakaramdam ng gutom."

"Late lunch, eh, you barely ate anything that time. God, you're a pain in the ass." She rolled her eyes. "And I guess you didn't eat anything today, as well? I am not wrong, aren't I?"

"I had something for brunch earlier," I said. Which is true, kumain naman akong konti.

It's past three in the afternoon already. I must've been so stressed. Ganoon kasi ako 'pag sobrang stress, 'di makakain ng maayos.

"You wanna see a doctor?" Alexandria looked concerned.

"No, no. Thanks for the concern, Alex, but I'm fine. Really. I'm feeling better now," I insisted.

"You don't look okay, I swear," anito.

Well, I am not okay. I really am not okay.

Especially not after hearing last night that James' remains were now claimed by his family. I basically cried the whole night. Until now, I still refused to believe that I won't be seeing James again.

I'm very worried about Louie, too. He's been in a coma for two days now. I know he's gonna wake up soon. Nararamdaman ko.

I believe in Louie. Hindi ito basta-bastang bibigay. Alam kong lalaban ito. But it breaks my heart to think na masasaktan ito ng husto kapag nalaman nitong wala na si James.

James is not just a business partner. He's basically Louie's best friend! It will break Louie's heart into pieces to know that his best friend is no longer here when he wakes up.

"You're not pregnant, aren't you?"

I choked on my own spit the moment I heard Alexandria said that. Agad akong napabaling dito. She looked serious.

"No, no. Of course not," ang mabilis kong sabi habang umiiling.

Sure I am feeling weak and nauseous these days, and I am finding it hard to eat anything, but it was all because of stress. I had been through a lot of stress recently so of course it will take a toll on my health.

Yes, I didn't get my period last month but it's nothing new since I'm an irregular.

Plus Louie and I always use protection. Well, except for those two times when…

But no. No, of course not. I am not pregnant. I couldn't be pregnant. Not now.

I brushed the idea out of my head.

"You surely don't sound so sure," said Alexandria.

"I am," ang pag-uulit ko, mas madiin this time. "I'm not pregnant, Alex. I'm just stressed."

"Still it doesn't hurt to double check just to make sure, don't you think? PT kits don't cost a lot, y'know." There's a sarcasm in her voice.

I agree. I made a mental note on getting one tomorrow.

"Louie's awake." That was the first thing I heard from Alexandria when she called me very early in the morning the next day.

A couple of hours later we were in her car which was parked outside the hospital.

I was so relieved when I heard that Louie's finally awake. I can't wait to see him and hug him and tell him that I love him, too.

We're waiting for a go signal or something.

"I'm sorry, Aera, but I don't think you can see Louie today," ang sabi ni Alexandria matapos ang tatlong oras naming paghihintay sa loob ng kotse.

Yes, we were here in the parking lot for three hours already. And she just got a call from, I assumed, one of Louie's bodyguards.

"Things are somehow chaotic there," she continued. "Andun daw sina tito at tita. Although umalis na si tito pero andun pa din daw si Tita Minerva. Saka bawal pa daw tumanggap ng visitors si Louie. They're still running a lot of tests on him and yeah, obviously, he needs to rest, too. I'm so sorry, Aera."

But I'm not just any visitor. I'm his wife.

It's enough that Alexandria's helping me already. I don't wanna insist on anything.

"That's okay. I understand," I said after letting out a deep sigh.

She brought me back to my hotel where I waited for any update in vain.

Three days. It took another three agonizing days before I finally get another call from Alexandria.

I thought I was going crazy when she finally called me.

"Louie knows you're here," anito sa telepono.

"What?" I suddenly got excited. Napaupo ako mula sa pagkakahiga sa kama. "How did he know?"

"Apparently, everyone knows that you're in the country. You made some headlines yourself when you arrived here," anito. "And as expected, we couldn't really hide anything from Tita Minerva. She even knew that I went to the hospital with you."

"Oh, I'm sorry, Alex. I hope I didn't get you in trouble." I somehow felt guilty.

"Nah. Doesn't really matter," she dismissed what I had to say. "I mean, I already expected that. Anyway, get ready. I'll pick you up in a couple of hours. Louie wants to see you."

And that was all I wanted to hear. I spent the next hour getting ready to see Louie.

God, I miss him so much. I can't believe I am finally seeing him today… awake.
