It's been at least 5 years since the war and all of the nations finally found their peace. You and Haru had been together for a while since the great war; practically falling in love the first time you guys met. But, you were always too shy to make the first move to show affection. And you couldnt tell if he felt the same way. You both were traveling together, from village to village and just traveling the new open lands together. It was starting to get late and you both needed to find a place to stay.

"Hey, it is getting late. Maybe we can find cheap lodging here," you suggested. He looked at you and nodded his head in agreement.

"Yeah definitely. I actually know someone in this territory who may be able to help with that. And we wont have to pay a cent," he said with a grin. You chuckled after him and his excitement as you started to follow his lead.

"Now that sounds like a great idea. Lead the way." His grin widened into a smile as he nodded. He then took you by the hand and lead you to the outskirts of the village. You just hoped he hadn't noticed how red your face was turning. After about a 7 minute walk, you guys made it to a modest farm house that had all its lights on. When Haru knocked on the door, an older woman opened the door with a big smile. She greeted him with a big hug. They exchanged pleasantries before she beckoned you to follow her to the back of her house where she had a cute, little cottage nesting a good distance from her own home. She showed you around and suggested that you sleep there for the night. You both thanked her greatly before she bid you both a good night.

***Haru's POV***

It was a long day and we both deserved some rest. I figured we could honestly stay in this territory considering how vast it was. Plus I couldn't help but notice how her eyes lit up while we were here. She hadn't traveled much before meeting me and I was in the same boat to a degree. I feel like that's why we were good for eachother. We balanced eachother out; her beautiful curiosity and my ability to read people and keep her out of danger. Watching her be in awe with everything always made me feel like I was the luckiest man alive. It was just hard telling if the feeling was mutual. As I cleaned myself up for the night, I walked into my designated room to find Y/n sitting on my bed writing in her journal. I smiled as I rubbed my head with a towel to dry my hair.

"Well this is a nice surprise," I commented as I draped the towel over my head. Y/n's head shot up and saw her face turn 50 shades of red.

"I umm... I wasnt expecting you to come out like that," she stammered as she pressed her journal to her face. I laughed and looked at myself.

"How do you mean?" I watched her eyes peek over the top of her journal.

"Umm like half naked." I was only wearing my night shorts, plus the towel on my head.

"Well to be fair my wonderful Flower, you are indeed sitting in my bedroom on my bed," I replied as I pulled the towel down to my shoulders. Her eyes widened before they disappeared behind her journal again.

"Okay you make a fair point," she squealed from behind her book. I walked to the bed and sat down on the edge when she took a deep breath and uncovered her face.

"What's the matter," I asked as I tucked loose hair behind her ear.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to be with you a little while longer before calling it a night," she said softly. I could see her ears turn a bit pink as she looked down at her hands almost like she was embarrassed. I couldn't help but smile at her. I tossed my towel into the basket near by and scooted closer to her.

"You don't need to be sorry. Today was an amazing day," I replied as I nudged her book. "Tell me, what were you writing about?" I crawled onto my bed completely and rested against the headboard. She smiled at me as she opened her journal and presented it to me.

"I'm actually recounting our day. I have been since the beginning of our trip," she explained as she flipped to the very beginning. I stared, mesmerized. She documented our entire trip since day one. I flipped through the pages, skimming her recounts of our time. I couldn't help but notice one of her entries seemed a bit more dreary. Before I could read anymore of it, she quickly took the book from me. "Sorry... that one was personal," she apologized as she hugged her book.

"No, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry," I replied as I lifted my hands up. "But, if you don't mind me asking, why didn't you tell me you were having a rough night?" She lowered her head and sighed.

"I don't like feeling like a burden. It was still a great day we had but sometimes loud storms give me nightmares," she admitted. I recounted that night. Our trip was delayed by a few days since we got hit with a massive storm. I remember seeing her trembling in her sleep, but didn't want to impose. I reached out for her hand and grabbed it.

"Next time you ever feel that way, never hesitate to come to me. Please promise me that," I said as I got her to look at me. She smiled and nodded her head.

"I promise." After that we continued chatting about our trip before calling it a night; both of us fast asleep. Sometime during the night I felt movement on my bed. When I opened my eyes, I saw her crawling toward me; her eyes wide from shock and embarrassment. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean..." I just opened my blankets and tugged her to me. I pulled her under the covers and wrapped her up in my arms, pulling her back against my chest. Once she let go of the tension in her body, she hugged my forearm as she cuddled into me. "Thank you," she whispered.

"This can be our new normal if you'd like," I suggested softly. She gave a small chuckle as she squeezed my arm slightly.

"I'd like that."
