Athena and Clarke stood together inside the dim temple with their only remaining parents. It was a little weird seeing them express their concern for each other. While the taller blonde was slightly pissed off, she ignored them and continued trying to ignore the dark whispers inside her head.
The temple doors suddenly opened, revealing Indra, Bellamy, and Octavia. "Heda." They bowed their heads slightly, causing Athena to roll her eyes.
"When you destroyed the City of Light, there were a thousand Azgeda warriors inside the City of Polis." Indra informed the group.
"Good timing." Octavia muttered sarcastically and rose an eyebrow at Athena.
"Only way to remove them is by force." Indra made straight eye contact with the blonde who cocked her head, thinking about the consequences.
"Then let's remove them by force." Clarke replied at the same time as Bellamy said, "we have most skaikru guards here, we can take them."
"You're not in charge here." Athena quickly corrected them and looked back at Indra, "who would follow me?"
"No one." Indra pursed her lips.
Octavia cleared her throat and stepped up, "but you're The commander of fire and an Azgedan killer. If they find out you have the flame, Rockline, Flokru, and Broadleaf will join you."
Athena sighed, "that's not enough. And Flokru doesn't fight so we can't go to them for much."
"Trikru would join without question." Indra assured her and Athena gave her a nod.
It was Abby's turn to pace, "this is madness. We should be leaving with the others... while we still have time."
"They know where we live. If we run, they'll follow." Kane replied before turning back to the group, "there are 8 other clans. How do we get them to join us?"
"Find a new commander who's not from the sky." Adriel said as he walked through the doors and gave Athena a cocky smile to assure her he was just playing around.
Indra ignored the younger man, "I can do it, but I'll need the flame."
Clarke quickly shook her head, "no. The flame is only safe inside of Athena right now. We can't take it out or it's over."
"It's either the flame or we fight and kill everyone leaving Roan to rule. Or maybe someone worse than Ontari." Athena stated.
"There's no time to fight. We have to save Roan." Clarke stood her ground and Athena furrowed her eyebrows.
"Save him? They won't let us near him." Octavia replied and looked at Clarke like she was out of her mind, but Clarke continued looking at Athena who finally understood what she was trying to say.
"What dont we know?" Abby caught on and noticed their looks.
Athena sighed, "the reason Alie created the City of Light was because we're all gonna die. The nuclear reactors inside power plants that survived the bombs are melting. Radiation levels are rising, if we can't fix it, we're all dead in six months."
