_Elize's POV_

"Hey... I have to go now, bye," I tell the girls, slipping on the new backpack I bought, walking down the long corridor.

"You mean you're not coming? How come?" Dawn asks, stepping in front of me, in my way. I sigh, looking down at the ground, keeping my emotions in line.

"I... I have to go to my home and take care of my aunt," I tell them, not meeting their eye. I'm not lying and it hurts...

"Why do you have to take care of your aunt? Can't her children or your parents or siblings take care of her?" Misty asks, siding with Dawn.

"C-can we talk about this later? I... I really need to take care of my aunt," I whsiper out, my voice hoarse from my attempt not to cry. They notice my expression and nod, stepping aside to let me pass.

"We'll see you later!" May yells, waving her arm to which I wave back in reply. I exhale deeply, shoving my hands in the pockets of my new white sweater that had fluff on the inside, burying my nose in the soft yellow scarf I bought from my trip to the mall the other day. I glance over my shoulder to see the boys with the girls, except that the 'Jason' kid isn't with them, making me smile at the sight of the couples I ship with no disruption.

I direct my attention back to the direction I'm going, bumping into a guy who had his head down, hands shoved in his burgundy hoodie pockets, hood covering his face. "Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," I apologize, looking up at him since I'm short for my age.

"No, I wasn't looking where I was going, sorry 'bout that Elize," He responds, pulling back his hoodie to reveal his face and identity: 'Jason'. My eyes widen in surprise, I mean seriously, he apologizes after bumping into me but not about harassing me.

"Hey, do ya know where the guys are? I gotta tell 'em somethin'." I point over in the direction they're at before walking away, the sleeves flopping around while I walk. "Where're you goin'?" He jogs over to me, soon walking at my pace.

"Somewhere..." I reply, closing my eyes as I walk.

"No duh!" He comments, sending me a mischievous smile before pushing me lightly to the side with his shoulder.

"Hey!" I exclaim, smiling, pushing him back with the palms of my hands, making him laugh. "Aren't you supposed to tell the guys somethin'?"

"Well, yeah... But I thought you'd be rather lonely walking by yourself." I roll my eyes at him, somehow knowing that was a cover up for something.

"You felt out of place with them having someone, huh?" I ask, tilting my head to the side to face him, seeing his face turn pink with embarrassment.

"Uh... Yeah, kind of..." He answers, lowering him head to hide his face in the shadows. I let out a laugh, pushing him slightly with my shoulder, noticing we're reaching the end of the corridor.

"Don't be embarrassed man..," The ends of my mouth curve into a smirk, "A lot of boys your age go through the same process, but that's just your body's way of telling you you're a girl!"

"Yeah... Huh-What?!" I burst out laughing, covering my mouth with my hands, trying to stop myself from laughing at his expression. He looks so funny that way, and it took him about six seconds to figure out what I said!

"Okay... Okay... I'm not... Laughing... Pffft! Who am I kidding? That was hilarious!" I laugh out, choking almost immediately, wiping away tears from my eyes.
