Cyrus woke up, tired. It was Friday, and it had rained outside the previous night. He was very attached to his baby sister Riley and wanted to bring her to school with him today. And so he packed an extra bag with all her necessities inside, including The baby carrier which would be on his chest. Riley still had to use it because of her size and weight. She was small. He threw the extra bag into the backseat of his car. He had told his mother that he would drop her off at daycare to alleviate some of the stress, which she appreciated. Once the teenage boy entered the parking lot of Foxwood High, he placed the harness onto his chest and placed his sister inside. He covered up the harness with an oversized hoodie, eyes scanning for any witnesses.

It had been a few hours, at least five when Night went to go check up on Riley. "Hey Stephanie. How is Riley? Is she doing OK?"

The daycare teacher looked confused. "she never came in today. I was about to call you and ask, but then one of my students, A three-year-old said that his big sister's best friend said she was sick."

" what is the students last name?"
" Fields, why do you ask?"
" tell Theodore I'm clocking out early."
"Night, kid. I'm confused."
Night sighed. " his big sister is the best friend of my son who was supposed to drop Riley off today."
Stephanie nodded. "Oh! Well, I understand. Sunny said he'll cover for you."

Man, Night loved her husband.

Lunch was crowded. Cyrus had taken a seat with his friend group, and Riley was eager to get out. "Okay, okay. " he said before taking off his hoodie and freeing the baby from the carrier.

As Audrey stepped in and helped Riley eat, principal Grey came on the loudspeaker. "Audrey Fields and Cyrus Slysdale. Please report to my office immediately."

Cyrus and Audrey exchanged glances before walking in. Through the small glass panel on the door, Audrey and Cyrus saw Night. "Aw shit dude! It's your mom!" She cursed.
The boy's eyes grew wide.

Cyrus walked in, and stared at his mother. Riley was on Audrey's hip, crying.

Cyrus sighed. "All I wanna know is the following: Damn! Who snitched? Was it Ryker Felons? I'll kick his ass!"
Night looked at him. "It was Audrey's little brother who overheard your conversation last night. Being on speaker isn't a bright idea when there's toddlers around. Audrey, you had nothing to do with this. You can go."
Audrey handed a very cranky, nap deprived Riley to the pissed off mother, before sitting back down. "Is it ok if just stay?"

Meh. Why not

Night looked at her son. "Cyrus Orion, explain to me why you would betray my trust like this? You lied to me, boy. You put Riley in danger by bringing her here. What if she had gotten taken?"
Cyrus sighed. "I hate parting with her. She's just a baby, lord knows how ruthless kids her age are."

Night sighed "I know you had good intentions, Cy, but your actions override that. You're in a lot of trouble, mister, and I mean that. You're grounded when we get home"

The boy's eyes grew wide. He's never been grounded the past three years he's lived with them.

"Welcome to the get grounded club, Slysdale" Audrey said before walking out.

Riley had skipped a nap, which meant she was extra cranky and miserable. Night rocked the child gently, and Riley had held her mother's shirt as she drifted off.

Sunny walked in. "Hey, my gorgeous galaxy. What happened? Are you hurt?"
"I called out because our oldest snuck Riley to school, so I had to go get her."

"What will we do about Cyrus? He can't go without consequences, especially with the severity of the situation, Night." He said.

"He's grounded, Sunny. It was a tough decision, but a needed one. I love him with my heart, but he needs to learn that something like this is dangerous. For him and Riley."

Sunny kissed his wife "You made the right decision, Stardust."

She sure did hope so.
