Night lay in bed, Riley curled next to her. Night smiled before pulling out a book. An hour later, her reading was interrupted by her book being pulled at. Night looked down, only to see Riley looking back at her. "MOMMY!!" She shouted, and the little girl kissed her mother on the cheek. Night pulled the little girl closer, hugging her. "Hi baby girl! Did you have a good nap?"
Riley nodded. Night got up, taking the toddler into her room. Once Night got dressed, it was her daughter's turn. Riley now wore a matching dress to the one her mother had put on moments before "You look so pretty, starlight. You look just like mommy."
Riley heard those words and beamed with joy. Sunny had taken the boys with him so the two could have a girls day.
And boy, did the two need it.The mother and daughter duo went out to lunch, where Riley happily ate chicken tenders while kicking her legs in glee. In the car, Night giggled when Riley made a silly face directed at her in the front view mirror. Night made one back, and it became some sort of silly face war. The two then went shopping, where Riley was completely spoiled. Night had gotten her new shirts, dresses, tutus, hoodies, and sneakers. Riley was especially ecstatic over the light up Bluey ones, to the point where she did a happy wiggle in her mother's arms. Night kissed her on the head, ruffling Riley's hair. Night also grabbed something else. A set of toddler pencils, crayons, and a small sketchbook.
The two went home, where Night sat down on the floor, cross legged. "Ri Ri!" She called out, and just as quickly did the two year old go to her room did she come out of it. Night sat Riley on her lap, smiling. "I got you something while we were out."
Riley was intrigued, and her attention had been grabbed. Night had grabbed the bag, and pulled out the drawing supplies. "Now you can draw just like mommy!"
Night had never seen her little girl's eyes light up like the way they did in that moment, and the mother could feel the immense joy Riley felt. Night flipped open her daughter's sketchbook, and the toddler instantly began to draw. Night sat on the couch, before drawing in her own. After a few minutes of silent scribbling, Night felt Riley tap her knee. "Hey there, my little artist! What's up?"Riley held up her sketchbook with pride. It was just two messy looking figures with faces, and Riley said three words that gave those figures a meaning. "Me and you!"
Night started to cry. Her daughter had received her first sketchbook, and in that sketchbook on the very first page was herself and Riley.
Night picked her up, hugging her real tight. "Thank you so much, baby. I love it so much!"
Riley looked at her before hugging back, before Night sat the child upright on her lap. The two watched the PAW Patrol movie, with both girls smiling from ear to ear.
